Re: 1Y engine or not
Hi jona, I can't answer many of your questions apart from 1, we've got a 1Y on our high top and are really happy with it. Loads of torque and no hassle with turbo failures! We bought our bus with it fitted so don't know much about fitting. I do believe there is a wiki on this site for the conversion...

Re: Westfalia high top liner
Closure on this post... For the boards I used 3.6mm ply from a local timber merchant, it worked a treat, I think original fitted was also 3.6mm but difficult to tell as I didn't have el vernier with me  I sourced vinyl covering from Vescom, type was Albert #1018.06 http://www.vescom.com/wallco...

Re: Westfalia high top liner
To clarify as realised my message is still somewhat ambiguous. It's the panels that line the high top that I am wanting to replace

Westfalia high top liner
Hi, we have had a leaky high top and the liner in the high top is trashed. We want to keep bus as close to original as possible. It's a Westy club joker. Has anyone any suggestions on replacement plywood panels. In particular the covering that is on the plywood?
Hope this all makes sense?

Nutter!
We've got a Westy high top with 1.9 non-turbo in it (1Y). Cruises on the flat at 65/ 70 (takes about 1/2 a mile to get there) and tackles motorway hills at a relatively good pace normally about 60 but that really depends on the run up. wind direction and the slope! With all that in mind she did 2060...

Eberspacher firing up
I had a problem with our eberspacher firing up, similar in detail. Even with engine running or hooked up it would fire up then cut out. From pure chance I checked our leisure battery (standby/ leisure whatever, fits under one of the front seats in a westy) and it was prehistoric  . I change...

BRILLIANT, CHEERS
Cheers loads Westy and Ringo you guys really are an invaluable fountain of knowledge 8). I managed to stop the blowing with a Kronenburg can (that was Saturday night's tipple in the end, empty of course) and some very pricey Holts joint lubricant/ sealer from Halfords - unfortunately the only motor ...

Cheers Westy and Ringo, It's what I suspected, I know that the tail pipe was too small as when I took it to a kamper place in Warham for a once over and they commented that she was a little loud and replace the small bore pipe with a larger one (they only charged a fiver on top which was really cool...

1Y Exhaust and manifold
Hi, Hi, Our T25 has a 1.9d 1Y engine, the silencer has started rattling and I'd like to replace it. Can I do a straight replace with a 1.6TD silencer? Also when inspecting the silencer I noticed that it wasn't actually fixed to the 'downpipe' (excuse the terminology) I thought she was a bit blowy an...
