Three campers' earlier (my first) ran early pipes and original single tailpipe. And that ran absolutely fine.
The engine is sound. The autobox plus LPG robs a bit of power, and yet compared to my other camper, a DJ2.1 on E10 it feels very stifled.
I guess a compression test is the way to go.

Twin Outlet Stainless Silencer
My recently purchased 1987 Autosleeper DG1.9
LPG with autobox is running early manifolds and a stainless silencer twin tailpipes.
In your opinion will this set up gain or restrict bhp?
To my feel it is restricting.

Re: Help needed
Its okay... It's actually Steve you are correcting. :) Low Pressure Oil Switch hidden by push rods. Higher Pressure Oil Switch (Buzzer of Doom / Dynamic Oil Pressure) near the water pump. Unfortunately VW did a bit of daisy-chaining coloured wires to brosn wires too. Just to keep things interesting...

Re: Help needed
Sorry to correct you, Rob. If lm right, then normally... Blue/black trace wire goes to blue switch 0.3 bar. All petrol WBX T25's are fitted with this one between pushrods. Yellow wire to grey switch 0.9 bar under waterpump known as buzzer of doom fitted to engines (check serial number) after 1985. B...

Re: 1.9DG to 2.1DJ engine swap
I have gone off the idea after looking for parts availability online. No camshafts available, no std pistons and liners to be seen, etc, etc. No, don't. We want an engine rebuild to umm and ahh over. You will be impressed with a 2.1. Even running on a carb. Presently, l have a DJ2.1 and a DG1.9 LP...

Re: 1.9DG to 2.1DJ engine swap
It's worth noting that youll be throwing a fair bit of money at a ground up build. If the heads are OK then you're gonna save about £800 or so, but you'd be best to check valves and guides on the current heads.. I think my build came in just under 3k... and that was without heads. For the money I c...

Re: 1.9DG to 2.1DJ engine swap
So realistically what is a 2.1 DJ with 150k miles an apparenty was seen running and in need of a full rebuild really worth? https://i.imgur.com/frK1pST.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/9uUtsWu.jpeg Not exactly well loved, is it? First check it is actually a DJ by asking for a photo of engine number. Any si...

Davidloft and a few articles on The Samba assure me it is achievable without removing dash.
Stay tuned for pictorial outcome.

Re: Autobox Foot Brake Lever Assembly Replacement
Thanks, Steve! :ok Really, REALLY do not want to take out dash! First time l cracked the windscreen trying to release dash screws on top! The second time, for changing a seized fan, l cracked up. On refitting, l was looking for the aerial plug to reinsert into radio. Where the k'hell has it gone? Th...

Autobox Foot Brake Lever Assembly Replacement
Is it possible without removing dash in an automatic T25?
Haynes manual reads dash removal, master brake cylinder and servo out.
BUT this is for gear lever manual version. My Haynes manual makes no mention of auto tranmission version?
Regards
Stuart

Re: Leisure Tank Gas Leak
Answering my own question, after more internet browsing, apparently this is a pressure relief valve and is working as it should. Recently l filled up with LPG five miles away from home. This is to stop excess pressure in the leisure tank if ambient air temps increases and expands the gas. Will monit...
