Re: Nankang 205/70 r14 - any experience?

Thanks trucker. Will have a look at the nexens too, was looking on Oponeo and they have got them. Their website says the tyres are for cars, but it the load rating is right, they should be good for T25s, shouldn't they??

:ok

Re: Nankang 205/70 r14 - any experience?

Thanks bigherb. That's what I'd seen on the negative reviews, but just wanted to check here too. Think I will leave them and definitely go with the Semperit then. :ok

Nankang 205/70 r14 - any experience?

Hi - quick question about tyres. Has anybody used nankang tyres, I'm reading mixed reviews? I urgently need some 205/70 r14s this week, I can definitely get nankangs, might be able to get semperits, which I've got at the moment, but need them by Wednesday so it's pretty touch and go! Whilst reading ...

Re: 1.6 turbo diesel won't start - mystery solved

Thanks for all the ideas people. However, the problem was a dead leisure battery! It was dead, so was draining the main battery if left too long without being driven. Apparently I should have something which stops that happening but haven't, or it isn't working. so we've disconnected the leisure bat...

Re: 1.6 turbo diesel won't start

I don't think the battery is flat because when I did have a flat battery, the side door (electric mechanism) wouldn't open, and it's opening fine. It does seem to be something to do with the starter motor or connection to the starter. Thank you for al your suggestions - will hopefully be sorted for ...

Re: 1.6 turbo diesel won't start

Thanks for the replies :ok Will speak to the mechanic tomorrow and see what he has to say. If it is the starter motor, is it a big job - for mechanic, not me? I don't think it is the glow plugs, I changed those myself a couple of years ago and the buzzing sound is not familiar. Can't see anything lo...

1.6 turbo diesel won't start

]Hi there, I know this is probably a long shot as I really don't know what the problem might be, but any ideas would be appreciated! I haven't been using my van as much as I should/would like for the past few months for various reasons. It is usually totally reliable and starts every time. But it ju...

Re: 1.6TD tune up help please

hi Choplee - I've taken my van to a place in orpington that I'd recommend if you are looking for someone in Kent. Called Meadow Garage
Market Meadow
Orpington BR5 3NW
01689 870 749

The guy who owns it used to have a T25, has a split screen now (I know! I don't why either ).

Re: fan belt problem

gave up trying to get the water pump belt off and put everything back, adjusting tension by moving the alternator up the bracket as much as I could. the squeal has stopped, but am concerned about what to do when the belt does need changing - spares and AA I guess! thanks for advice and patience. :ok

Re: fan belt problem

been out trying to get to the water pump pulley wheels, but everything is so close to the exhaust I can barely get my hand in, never mind get allen keys in and turning. Have remembered that I didn't change fan belt last year, it was the AA, (i did work on the alternator with Si - Toomany tools). AA ...

Re: fan belt problem

:D no offence taken! just feeling a bit stupid - had watched the JK video on changing fan belt and hadn't realised it was different set up.

I need to get better at using the wiki before asking basic questions!

thanks!

Re: fan belt problem

thought that was how to get the belt off - didn't realise it was stuck around the other belt. :run have read Rob's link and am going to try again tomorrow - still have the problem of getting to the shims on the top pulley though and making adjustments there. as you will have gathered by now - I'm tr...

Re: fan belt problem

sorry - it was a helpful link  hadn't realised that I'll need to take the second belt off to get the alternator belt off! Had the alternator out but still can't undo the nut!! might try taking the alternator to a garage to see if they can undo it. I'm interested in the idea of cahnging over to...

Re: fan belt problem

thanks for the post - but no, doesn't help. I can't get the nut off to change the top belt (alternator belt?), just wondering if there is some technique that doesn't end up with a knackered fan!

thanks.
