Re: Old DJ injection conversion
I did maxxecu conversion year ago and I really like it so I definetly recommend aftermarket ecu as a hobby and to replace some hard to diagnose old parts. https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=9749699&highlight=#9749699 My short write up in samba I think hobby is the correct word fo...

Re: Fuel injecting a DG engine.
Nice kit Adie, not so nice price though. I reckon I could do it with a 2nd hand microsquirt ECU (people buy them and then abandon the project) and Dj manifolds/throttle body/plenum etc. Should come out not much over £500. Or I could try it with an ecotrons system I already have on my trike ...

Re: Fuel injecting a DG engine.
This thread popped up on Googles so I thought I'd up date it.
The popular way of doing the conversion is by using the hardware from a 2.1 and converting the throttle body
to accept a TPS for which there is a kit available.
Personally I'd give the Microsquirt/Megasquirt a miss

Re: Old DJ injection conversion
It's going to be about £1275 if you use your own injectors and idle valve and get it working with your distributor

Re: Old DJ injection conversion
What sorta costs are we looking at? I've seen kits on speedshop for about 1.5k Probably a bit less than that but depending on skill level it could be done DIY using one of the cheaper ECU's out there and making up your own wiring for well under a grand. The bits to do the conversion above -stainles...

Re: Old DJ injection conversion
Is this a commercial venture? AFM can be successfully converted to eliminate the wiper track and its wear issues. MAP sensing can bring its own problems due to pressure fluctuations or pulsing if the sensor isnt well placed. Would be interested in more info though. Just something I developed over t...

Re: Old DJ injection conversion
I think the main benefit will be when the old system goes pear shaped after 35 years and is non serviceable due to lack of parts not to mention the benefits of a modern ECU with things like overheat protection, rev limiters etc

Old DJ injection conversion
Hello
Got a few parts available to convert the old DJ and MV injection system over to a modern aftermarket ECU
with new readily available sensors and injectors. The air flow meter is replaced with a MAP sensor and a throttle sensor.

Re: Throttle body single point injection
It's a pretty techy thing to put an aftermarket ECU on an engine so I think the throttle will have limited appeal but I'll put it out there anyway.
I think for cost a Megasquirt ecu would be the most popular way to do it and probably somehow could be run in conjunction with LPG

Throttle body single point injection
Hello I developed a throttle body to bolt straight onto a 1.9 carb manifold but not sure there is any demand for this as it would be quite techy for the average owner/user plus I don't have a vehicle to produce test results. It is 36mm bore which is about as big as you can go on that manifold betwee...

Phoenix Exhausts only deal with distributers and not direct with the public. Theparts needed to fit the exhaust ...
