Re: Wanted: Water junction

and if so, any chance of getting it in the post guaranteed next day delivery? The engine is ready to go back in and the guy that's fitting it is going on holiday on Friday so the pressure is on..... I'm even prepared to drive to you from London and pick up if means I can get my hands on it quicker!

Re: Wanted: Water junction

Stainless from Germany would be nice but the engine is ready to go back in. A little short sighted to go plastic again but I'm running out of time.

Jes... you happy to sell me one of those?

Re: Wanted: Water junction

Any chance of doing that test by Thursday  The guy that's fitting the engine is finding it difficult to get hold of one. He gave me this part number for reference 251121438 saying I need the syncro specific part, but not having seen the piece for myself I'm a bit confused. The image you posted...

Wanted: Water junction

Does anyone know the correct name and part number for the syncro specific water junction/coolant distributor/hose junction for a 1988 DJ? and where I could get one (new if possible). It looks like this: http://www.vwheritage.com/vw_spares_Hose-junction-by-no-1-cyl-WBX-manual-24-H-022-956_act_shop.pr...

Re: Replacement engine

Fascinating stuff, I'll be following the thread closely. I would love to rebuild mine but I just don't have the tools or the knowledge (yet), but I do have a garage. The most I've done on my van is fit a new stainless exhaust, regular oil changes, changed a coil on the rear suspension, change coolan...

Re: Replacement engine

Good advice Paddy thankyou. bhpdub - thanks, let me have a think on that

Marco Mansi fitted my last one, I might try calling him although I get the feeling he's a busier man than he was 9 years ago, it took him a few months back then to complete.

Re: Running problem

Just been reading a post by Post by nickthefish » Mon Aug 09, 2010 12:30 pm (sorry don't know how to link the thread) and I noticed the last comment by HarryMann says: "If it stops up the road randomly (between 1 and 50 miles), it might be (Vanagon Syndrome), just misfiring is not, use traditio...

Re: Running problem

Thanks - that's interesting... I replaced the Lambda a few years back but it's possible I've done 60k since then. I'll check.
