Hello, Please........ No gasket sealant... :shock: :shock: :shock: Get a good quality gasket set, about £30 for the CU.. American is best,, In there are the 4 thin aluminium decompression rings that go at the top of the barrels and 4 paper rings that go at the bottom of the barrels.... grease these...

Yep its the cu engine, By brother said its not to bad at all so i am going to hone the barrels and fit new rings. I will also clean the heads up and fit new valve guides and valves then new gaskets and seals all round

Thanks all, the head i can save but the piston and barrol are both scored. I do have a spair engine sitting in my shed in bits, can i use a piston and barrol from that if its in better condition?
