Re: Clutch line flare type
So I tried to flare the 6mm pipe I got with a commonly available 1/4" SAE tool. But because 6mm is smaller than 1/4" the pipe won't stay clamped. I've found two options Bond do a nice tool where you can buy the die and punch size you need and they have the bits for 6mm DIN, but no price gi...

Clutch line flare type
Hi,
Need to replace my clutch line. Got some kunifer 6mm pipe on the way and M12 fittings.
What type of flare should I do? Does it matter? I have a tool for 1/4" SAE double flare so hope to use that.

Removing a welded drain plug
Hi, I was about to do a gearbox oil change. Took the filler plug out and then went to remove the drain plug and saw it had been welded. When I saw that I decided to stop and ask for some advice as I'm not entirely sure what's happened here and I'll need to be able to get it back in so I can use the ...

Re: 5 speed gearbox oil level and capacity
So mine is a 1984 5 speed, 2wd, and was originally diesel (now ADY). Sounds like I need to put 4 litres in there.
Where is the gearbox code? And where can I find a reference of code to capacity and fill level?
Thanks

5 speed gearbox oil level and capacity
Hi,
Going to do a gear box oil change. How much do I need? I saw 3.5L in Haynes, but see recommandations of 4, 4.5 and 5 online.
What's the fill level? Some people say 15mm below hole for 5 speed, other say until it comes out.
Thanks

Re: Broken gearbox casting where support plate mounts
Here's some photos I've taken of the mounting plate in place to help anyone else out in future. You can see here where I've ground off the original mounting lugs so the bolt heads can sit flush against the new plate. I had to open the holes on the plate up very slightly with around file to get the n...

Clutch pipe sheared
Had a brake fluid leak from rear wheel cylinder so replaced it. As the fluid had gone to empty I went to bleed the clutch, nipple sheared off so I got a new slave cylinder. Tried to remove the pipe from it and it rounded. Tried to disconnect the metal pipe from the flexible pipe and the metal pipe e...

Re: Broken gearbox casting where support plate mounts
After investigating a bit more I think the best thing here is going to be to grind off what's left of the original lugs from the gear box so that the bolts only go between the brickwerks repair plate and the support plate. The brickwerks kit include ones small bolt to use as they assume that the bot...

Re: Broken gearbox casting where support plate mounts
Thanks, yes just found and ordered one https://brickwerks.co.uk/product/gear-linkage-repair-plate-kit-t3-83-case-saver/ I'm a bit confused about how to fit it though. It seems that I remove 2 of the bolts from the gearbox, put the plate in position then put the bolts back in. I assume this then leav...

Broken gearbox casting where support plate mounts
Hi, I was just finishing off renewing my gearbox linkage and when I went to bomt in the support plate to the gearbox which holds the rear bush, the casting broke. The van is new to me and it seems there is previous damage here. Has anyone dealt with the problem before? I obviously don't want to have...

Selector lever replacement
Doing an overhaul of the gear linkage on my T25. How do I know if the selector lever should be replaced? It's the metal cup at the gearbox end of the linkage which the plastic ball sits in. I can see how the ball will wear being plastic but I can't see the cup wearing. I did grab a replacement but n...

Will these wheel studs fit?
One of my rear studs has a messed up thread. Will these fit?

M14x1.5 is right, I'm assuming the serrated head of the stud is pretty standard and will press into the hub?

Brown wire on steering column
Dropped my steering column down to remove the dash, putting it back in now and insert this broken wire. There's a wire coming out of the hole in this picture, is that what is supposed to connect to the spade terminal the Brown wire is on? Anyway to get it out of the hole? Thanks https://i.postimg.cc...
