Re: 2l Aircooled CU won't fire up
Hi,
Have you got fuel being pumped to the carbs?
Old mechanical fuel pumps have perishable diaphragms that can fail.
Take fuel supply pipe off carb and check it is pumping through into a jar (safely - remember very explosive!).
Cheers,
Chris

Re: Fisher Price - My first welding and fabrication
I was told to hold the torch against your cheek and when you can just feel the gas that is enough - any more is wasting gas, Don't know if that's good advice or not but it seems to be welding ok. MM - you are the bodywork sage and I bow down before ye and doth my cap. Is that panel double skinned an...

Re: Fisher Price - My first welding and fabrication
All, Thanks for your posts and words of encouragement. At the end of the day, I am just an ordinary guy 'having a go'. Did lots of reading, youtube videos, chatted to a few old skool pals who have welded and got on the Migwelding forum. I'll admit, after buying my MIG (Clarke 151 turbo) it sat in th...

Re: Fisher Price - My first welding and fabrication
Hi, I have been using a trick I saw on Wheeler Dealers - put masking tape across the hole and use a dirty thumb to smear and mark the edge. Then transfer this masking tape stuck directly onto the sheet to be cut and you should then get an exact fit. Took me a couple of times to get this right, then ...

Re: Fisher Price - My first welding and fabrication
Hi all, Thanks for your posts and kind words of encouragement. You are right - it is about taking your time, thinking about how you are going to tackle it then having a go. My concern is more about how to fabricate bits to fit but getting the hang of that now - basic and not neccessarily pretty but ...

Fisher Price - My first welding and fabrication
Hi, After months of putting it off as I was bricking it, I finally started tackling the tin worm issues on the top half of the van. So on the o/s/r quarter, under the track cover, there was a fair bit of crud which I was hoping I might get away with but after grinding back it was holed in quite a fe...

Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!
Looks good! What shade of orange is that? Hi, I can't remember the shade but it was a standard off the shelf Rustoleum colour - when I get a minute (yeah right  ) I'll check the tin... Saw your post on your tailgate rollering adventures. Agree, this is a slow, labour intensive and time consum...
