Re: Fresh Air Inlet - Font Beam

Fresh Air Inlet - Font Beam
Hi, On the beam that directs the fresh air to the A pillar, through the door and into the rear of my camper, there are two holes on top of the beam one either side ie left and right side. Are they supposed to have bungs in them, otherwise the air would escape before going into the rear, no? Last con...

Re: Revvy 3h Gearbox...
Alrighty... having returned from our wanders around Northern Spain, I can confirm that the Revs are now reading spot on. The simple tweek of taking off a few of the rpm and matching it to the drive pulley have corrected the readings. I now sit at 100kph at roughly 3k revs. Many thanks for all your i...

Re: Revvy 3h Gearbox...
The laser rev counter did the job.... the dash rev counter wasn't far off... tick over was 934 and the dash rev counter was over the thousand mark... bigger difference at 2000 rpm with over 200 rpm difference. Adjusted the rev counter to closely match the laser reading. Still means I have a revvy 3h...

Re: Double glazing is it worth it?
Hi Da Dan, I don't think double glazing is the answer to your issue with noise. DG will add some thermal value and reduce the amount of window wiping the condensation away in the morning. My van is dynamat'd throughout, there are other products similar to this, but they have a good product reputatio...

Re: Revvy 3h Gearbox...
Fellas, great idea's.... the £10 fleabay deal looks good...my history with 240v is not good....  ... Ill purchase one and check out the current idle and work from there.. might get an app and compare the two... it'll be interesting to see what's going on here.... I love a mystery and so...

Re: Revvy 3h Gearbox...
Thanks for the replies, I suppose I could recalibrate it with available data on the gearbox, wheel size and GPS speed. Tickover sits around 1000rpm which I assume is correct. ..so that may indicate a gearbox related issue I suppose... Not straight forward on the converted diesel motor... it was a jx...

Hadn't considered that... Any idea what should the original one be? Can I identify it... Suppose I could test the rpm with a separate tacho

Revvy 3h Gearbox...
Hi, my 3h gearbox seems to be a lot more revvy than the quoted figures... puzzled me for the past few years... Westfalia Club Joker - was a JX lump 3000 rpm = 50 mph 3500 rpm = 60 mph All rpm are taken from the Vans rev counter. Did they do different spec 3h gearboxes or, is it possible someone has ...

Re: Westy gas tank cover lock
Thanks fellas, I appreciate the time and photos taken. I knew I was correct . The current version on sale has a tab too long to turn round the 180 degree from up to down ...It can only turn from 270 to 90 degree position. Might try and source an old Tab. Ta Pete...

Westy gas tank cover lock
Hi I have replaced my gas tank cover, not for the first time, and the current one doesn't seem to lock in the same way. I am pretty sure when I locked the old one the tab on the lock went behind the folded up tab on the metal frame, thus preventing the cover opening. The new one seemingly doesn't do...

Heater Cable LHD Watercooled
Hello...
My heater cable on my 86 Westy is bent n broken at the valve end. Any one came across them recently? They seem to be no longer available.
Any ideas on the best way to tackle this once I find a replacement - it looks a right mare of a job
!
Ta muchly in advance.
