Re: 1.6td fuel starvation starting problem
Thanks. I replaced the leak off pipes last year, so that should rule that one out. I'll start by replacing the fuel filter and checking everything from the tank up to the filter and go from there.

1.6td fuel starvation starting problem
Hi all, I've had this problem for quite some time now and it is really bugging me. On occasions I have had difficulty starting the van because of a lack of fuel in the fuel pipe running between the fuel filter and the engine. It does not happen everytime I go to start. When you look at the pipe (the...

Re: westy fridge not working on electric hook-up
thanks scoobert. I can now see the 12v and 240v elements having removed the cover, they were correctly seated, but when plugged in, no heat from the 240v, so it seems to be at fault. 12v was running fine before I took the fridge apart, so I'll leave that element be. Have ordered a new 240v element a...

Re: westy fridge not working on electric hook-up
right, the fridge is out (struggled getting the exhaust pipe out of it's hole) and it does not look as though it has been shifted since it was installed. Can't say I know how to check it, but the fan looks knackered (covered in muck), and to be honest, I don't ever recall it in operation. Over time ...

Re: westy fridge not working on electric hook-up
well I know I have power going to the van as the buzzing black box is working, and the plug socket in the van has power to it. I have also just checked the plug socket under the sink, and power is getting to that as I have just plugged something else into the socket and it works fine. what is this e...

westy fridge not working on electric hook-up
Hi all,
Any ideas with this fridge problem anyone? The fridge works on gas and 12v, but not on electric hook-up. Is there a fuse or anything I should be looking at? I'm not very technically minded, so any help to point me in the right direction would be much appreciated.

slipping out of 5th gear
Has anyone had this problem? I have a 5 speed box in my 1.6td westy joker. The gearbox was reconditioned last year, and a new clutch was fitted, and since then i have only done about 3000 miles max. On a trip to Cornwall a week back, towards the end of the 180 mile trip, whilst driving along the van...

Re: Westy battery charger BBB
i have now disconnected the radio (in prep for me wiring it to the leisure battery) and after plugging the van in to the mains for a charge, the main appears to be ok. test will be tomorrow morning - out in the van tonight with no hook-up so lets see what the van is like in the morning. in the meant...

Hi all, starting to learn that when i get a problem, i get a string of them....... I have been checking my main battery as I have been losing charge, and having looked at various forums and posed questions, it appears the battery is buggered and in need of replacement. I understand that the main bat...
