AAZ replacement engine
I have a 87 Multivan with an AAZ engine conversion. I am planning an open ended trip around Europe in the van but think the engine could do with replacement before I go. I have looked at VEGE as a possible solution but they have so many different AAZ engines listed I'm not sure which one would be be...

Re: AAZ overheating issue
HarryMann, Many thanks for that info. It sounds like a straight forward job so I'll set to it as soon as the van is off the road. We are back in blighty now and have worked out that we covered 2254 miles in 5 weeks, averaging 30 miles/gallon of diesel and used approx 0.5 litre of oil. Cruising speed...

Re: AAZ overheating issue
Many thanks chaps,
I'll have a look at an oil cooler as soon as I get back. Where do the hoses go into to? is it a simple job or will i require a grown up to help?

AAZ overheating issue
I'm currently on a Euro road trip in my 87 Multivan and my AAZ is having a few issues with over heating. Before embarking on the trip I did a trial run to Holland and found the van hitting high temps on inclines so on return I replaced the radiator, pressure cap and fan temp sensor. This relieved th...

Re: power steering pump
Billy,
Cheers for the reply. The bloke who completed the conversion to AAZ (Russel at Synchronutz) tells me that it must be replaced by a T25 original pump or i will have to re-route the hoses and change the pump mountings. By the flushing of the system I guess you mean bleeding any air out?

Re: Diesel Sump removal
I wasn't aware of that one but It's the fact that there are bolts that are recessed deep in the sump channels that would need an alen key about a foot long to get to. I was wondering if there is a special key on the market or do i need to make one?
Thanks for the tip anyway mate.

Diesel Sump removal
Hello all, I have an 87 Multivan with an AAZ conversion and want ot remove the sump to fit a new gasket as I have a small oil leak. I notice that the alen bolts are difficult to get to, it looks like I need a very long alen key. Is there a special tool for this job or is a case of cobbling something...

Re: Bump stop rib removal
Simon, Thanks for the Info. My van is a German import Multivan. I have fitted the H and R Cup Kit with the green 55mm springs and Koni adjustable shocks. When I fitted the kit I didn't touch the the bump stops and had just 1 360 degree turn of adjustment from nothing on the shocks. I found this ride...

Re: Bump stop rib removal
Thanks for that. I have read through the how and why but it's vague as to how many to remove to get the best result. It says "remove one or two ribs" my stops only had 4 to begin with as opposed to the normal 6. I have removed 1 and I'm currently running on 2 but wondered if removing anoth...

Bump stop rib removal
Hello all, I have fitted a H and R Cup suspension kits to my 87 Multivan. I am experiencing a bit of a rough ride and so took a look at the bump stops. The bump stops on inspection only had 4 ribs on them (I believe this is the standard on the Multivan). Does anyone know what is the maximum amount o...

diesel rev counter
Hello all,
I would like to fit a set of dash gauges with a rev counter, there are a few on ebay are they difficult to fit? Where does the rev sensor connect?
They are going on a 1.9td conversion.

inter/charge coolers
Hello all,
has anyone had any experience fitting an inter/charge cooler to an AAZ conversion? I've had a good look through the site and found plenty of reference but little advice.
