Thanks to other posts I now believe that tick on the cage is 5 or 6 degrees ATDC? And that’s mark where the engine should be when both vac lines are attached to the carb? So basically at idle? Just thinking things through here. I’m guessing if I line that painted mark on the pulley with the plastic arrow on the cage then that is TDC? Slowly but surely I’m figuring this out. But now how do I mark other spots on the cage?

I also just noticed there is a little notch or arrow on the plastic cover to the pulley. Maybe that is a timing mark? I just don’t know what that mark indicates. Any input is welcome.
