Re: Insurance with Engine Change

If I write to the DVLA and inform them of the engine change, what will they say ??? Will the van have to be examined, have further tests and maybe fail them? In France they are sooo strict, any engine change requires a thousand euros worth of testing by a private company and the report submitted to ...

Insurance with Engine Change

Hi, I have a T25 1987 that has had an engine change to an AAZ from a VW golf mk3. Its a long story (isnt it always with a camper van!) but basically she has been previously insured with Footman James for a reasonable price. I tried to import her to France (having already imported her from Germany) b...

Eventually with the help of preview post and a bit of fiddling, I've got it, thanks Mocki.

Still, anyone got any suggestions for how to get something to use as a hob rack?

Hob Rack (boring but very useful!)

Hi, I am getting ready to go away camping for a while, and I dont have a rack for my hob. Last year I ended up using a tiny camping stove, but seeing as I have 2 hobs it seems a bit silly! The hob is below; (hope this works i haven't uploaded/linked a photo before) Any ideas what to do to get a rack...

This guy has some great stuff on electrics. http://www.kampenwagen.co.uk/Split%20Charge.htm Have you got a multimeter and checked all the voltages? When I was investigating mine, I checked the voltage accros the altenator, main battery and leisure battery with the engine off and then on. The main ba...

Hi, I have the same problem. You could try a caravan repair/service centre. Alternatively, try a corgi gas man, i guess the issue there though is access, he can no doubt check the stuff, but can he get to all the pipes and stuff? I have only had my van 1 year and not had mine checked. I have a carbo...

I wont change the steering wheel this year, it is just old and grubby and I want to spruce up my van a bit and get rid of that dirty feeling that my hands have after I drive the van. Is changing the steering wheel easy to do incidentally (in case I fancy a go next year?) Has anyone fitted a smaller ...

You may ask.

The wheel just feels really cruddy and despite washing it several times, I always seem to have grime on my hands after driving it. I thought that a cover would be nice :D

Do you have any objections?

Steering wheel cover

Hi, I'm trying to get a steering wheel cover for my T25 (the wheel is 45cm or 17.7inches). I tried searching the net for lorry sites and the like but have had little success. Any ideas (other than make one, get one done by an upholsterer, or use bike tape which are my possible plans if I fail to fin...

Roof rack for T25 westfalia pop top

Hi, I would like to get a roof rack for my 2 surfboards, and if possible a small roofbox to go alongside. Do you think that one which attaches via brackets in the pop top will be strong enough for this: 1. When driving fast? 2. With the pop top raised at night time? I have spent so long searching th...
