Re: Doing my own service - 2l Aircooled
Fuel filter ought to be close to the tank, you don't really want a filter in the engine bay  If changing plugs watch out for cross threading as the head is ally and will quite happily take a cross threaded plug until it spits it out, the difficult one to get to is No 3 LHS nearest the bulkhea...

Re: Rear Seat Safety
Having completely stripped the interior out to a bare shell the quality of build on my Autohomes is poor to say the least and 90% of it is in the local refuse dump.
The Autohomes T25 we had for a short while, had rear seatbelts bolted to the chipboard cupboards!

Don't know, but don't waste your money on the solvent free Evo Stick - it's rubbish

Re: carpet interior lining - how can I stop the dust??
The stuff coming from ours was definately tiny fibres.
Probably going to paint the inside for now, as the bare fibreglass is letting in loads of light and we have a festie in a couple of weeks!

Re: carpet interior lining - how can I stop the dust??
I've recently ripped all the lining carpet out of our hi top, having scrubbed with a stiff brush and hoovered it 3 times with no success. it's just bare fibre glass up there now, but rather that than the kids - and us - breathing in those tiny fibres! Still considering options for relining on a non ...

oi oi, a localy type who knows where we are!  it was a garage in chi, thing is, when she had an Aircooled van we borrowed it for a bit & my partner discovered a petrol leak, it was dripping down onto the heat exchanger, potentially hazardous, we couldn't find where it was comin...

diesel water (new pump) & oil leak & red light..
my bestest friend was driving home in her 1.6d the other week when the water pump seal went & she dumped her load, luckily she was on a road where she could stop straight away, garage fitted new pump & all was fine for 6 miles, then today after a further 6 miles the temp went right up &...

We have a pair of weber 34 ibp's. Really need to get it on a rolling road, but funds won't allow that at the moment

Re: 1.6 CT Aircooled?
Ours is a high top. We've not long finished running it in and my daily journey to work rarely allows me to go over 50mph.
I suspect that we'll still have a top speed of around 60mph, but that's ok, I'm not in a hurry, either getting to work or when we're off camping

Also adviseable to use Bosch or Beru points
I was advised to use Beru, as apparently Bosch ones are now made in China and the quality is not what it was!

Keep it as it is, good for stealth camping or sell it and buy one with windows! There's so few uncut panels around, it would be a shame to spoil another
