Re: Mystery container
I had guessed that once I thought to use AI image lookup. Commonly buried?

Mystery container
Ive tried searching but have yet to find anything to identify this container Click for image of container. Click for image of location. Click for image of Google AI identification. It was under the carpet and also behind a cupboard. Inaccessible until I removed the cupboard and carpet, as I'm redoin...

Re: Coolant leaking from thermostat housing.
It's finally time to sort this leak out, it's losing too much to just ignore it. It's definitely coming from between the engine and the housing. Is it better to just replace the housing, thermostat and obviously all the seals and gaskets rather than just try to replace seals and gaskets? https://ibb...

Re: Suddenly no resistance to clutch pedal
Having checked the foot well I cannot see any fluid leakage. However underneath the gearbox is a large wet patch. Further investigation reveals a worn out slave cylinder? https://ibb.co/ZzTfSq3Y https://ibb.co/fGvZxdJK Is this a suitable replacement? https://www.justkampers.com/251721263a-clutch-sla...

Re: Suddenly no resistance to clutch pedal
The reservoir is very low and I haven't checked the slave yet but I'm assuming it's the culprit for the loss, too chilly to be outside right now! I quickly found the information I was looking for right after I posted, just needed to sit with a cuppa

Suddenly no resistance to clutch pedal
Hey all Used the search function and googled what I can but could use some advice. I drove the van 2 days ago and no issues. But today I've started it and there's no longer any resistance on the clutch pedal. The spring is still attached but it's extremely easy to push down. There's a wet patch belo...

Re: Squeaking driving me insane
Whenever I've done this job I've just bought a spare pair of upper wishbones, fitted new bushes to them and slapped them straight on the van, then sold my old wishbones on to the next guy. They're about £80 a pair new, used ones sell for about £30-40. This is exactly what I was thinking while watch...

VW T3 / T25 / Vanagon - Upper Control Arm Wishbone Bushing Replacement The above video explains all, I did mine recently with basic tools. The most difficult bit was getting the old ones out but I'm sure they all vary. I literally just watched that video before returning to the forum

Re: Squeaking driving me insane
Thanks for your message, just looked up that part and just kampers sell them for pocket money.
Just Kampers link.
The exploded diagram image makes it look very straightforward. Is this something I can do on my driveway with just a socket and wrench? Also why does it need to be tacked in place?

Squeaking driving me insane
So every time I drive the van the squeaking sound coming from under the floor between the seats is driving me insane. It's only when the suspension moves, ie a speed bump or uneven road. I've gotten underneath and bounced the van up and down and think I've located the source to this area. image I've...

Re: Coolant leaking from thermostat housing.
Possibly. It's hard to get a proper look. It slowly weeps out from the bottom but I just can't identify the source point for sure. I do need the van on weekends so I'm slightly reluctant to try to remove the housing in case it breaks or the bolts snap. Should also probably have a replacement on hand...

Coolant leaking from thermostat housing.
I've finally had time to identify where the coolant is leaking out from, it appears to be between the thermostat housing and the block. As seen in these photos , it's been eating away at the shield for some time. I tried to tighten the bolt but didn't want to force and snap it. Do I get a new housin...

Re: Oil pressure buzzer
Forgive me but I am on a steep learning curve. Is it down there? It feels like what I've seen listed as an oil pressure switch. It has a single yellow cable to it
