Re: Installing aftermarket rev counter / tacho into a petrol T25
Slaughterhouse offer a Tachometer that is a copy of the VW type fitted to the T25. It’s designed to use the standard Temperature and Fuel gauges unlike the VW Tacho which requires different shaped gauges. Fitting an after market Diesel Tacho requires it to be calibrated to suit the engine as the pul...

Re: Red light when headlights on
Check the condition of the numerous earth connections at the Earth crown located on the pillar next to the fuse box. There are a number of earth connections that generate heat when Headlights, Radiator Fan, etc are on - the spade connectors on the Crown suffer heat damage creating all sorts of earth...

Camping and Carpets I find are a bad combination. Wood (or Vinyl flooring) and rugs are a far more practical.

Re: Temp gauge
The joints were not soldered, the socket itself is very thin plastic and the position and the amount of pressure needed to flatten all three solder joints would would have destroyed the socket itself. The pins appear to be pressed into the pads and their edges are clearly visible. I think this is so...

Re: Gas lockers
I suspect the campsite rule is for a ‘locker’ rather than an ‘air tight locker’. There must be thousands of campers and motor homes that only have a locker. I would be most surprised if the campsite inspect every vehicle and caravan entering their site.
Which campsite is this?
Which campsite is this?

Re: New Fuel Sender - erratic out put on gauge
The fuel gauge reading will change as you go up or down gradients, turn left or right, etc, it’s a well known issue with the T3 but yours sounds more sensitive than it should be. I think there two sender types for the T3 depending on year of manufacture (according to the Bentley Manual) as the VW ga...

Re: Mystery wires, with diode (?), loop found!
Check the Club80-90 WIKI as the Headlight/Relay upgrade is covered with Diagrams and Information. The Diode Mod really needs to be done properly - crimping and soldering it 'in line' as shown in your picture is a poor method.

Re: Temp gauge
Update for those following this thread and curious as to the cause of the Temp Gauge moving full deflection and the Coolant LED continually flashing. The Dash was placed on the bench and a Resistance measurement taken across the Temp Gauge output before powering up - the reading indicated a short...

Re: Temp gauge
Module 43 (42) is eliminated as a potential cause as removing it did not cure the problem. Not quite sure I understand what you mean when you refer to the circuit under the nuts if you have removed the blue membrane circuit and fitted an SHC kit. Post a pic of the SHC kit and wiring. I wonder if you...

Re: Temp gauge
There is a short circuit across the gauge and explains why your gauge is behaving like it is. You need to eliminate the dash itself, the wiring from dash to sender and the module 42 (43). First, remove module 42 (43) and switch ignition on to see if that clears the fault. If the fault is still there...

I have been using a combination of Dinitrol and Bilt Hamber Dynax S50 for quite a few years. You don’t need a compressor for the Dynax S50 it comes with an extension nozzle in a large pressurised can and has enough pressure even in cold weather. For Dintrol I use a compressor. No idea about lanoguar...

Re: Temp gauge
I would remove the yellow/red cable from the temperature Sender in the thermostat housing, switch ignition on and test. If the fault is still there with ignition on, then measure resistance across the yellow/red wire and the brown wire. I It should be quite high but if it’s a low resistance (around ...

Re: Temp gauge
Reading through your posts Tom, are you saying that the temp gauge needle rises to the overheat position and the LED continually flashes as soon as you start the engine or after the engine has been started, driven for a few miles and warmed up?
