I am trying to fit a new pressure plate no 035 141 117 to my 1900, 1989 van but the dowel holes will not line up. Two questions; Has anyone else had this problem and although I was told this is the correct plate, is there anywhere I can check that these are right numbers for my vehicle. I am loath t...

Clutch problem

Can anyone give me advice on this one please. The problem is that the gears engage fine, when when the clutch pedal is released it has to travel to almost the maximum height before the van moves, and then only a limited amount of 'pull'. I have replaced the clutch plate and release bearing, and blee...

We hope to have a good look over her at the weekend and maybe see if the 'spooky' r & r is do-able.

Pray for sunny days :)

It doesn't look like the windows are leaking at the moment, so I think we will go down the sealant route for now.Helpful information on the link by the way.

lloyd - the r & r is from a burnt out bay apparently.

we paid nearly £3K for ours and I assumed that was cheap. are you going to try and put a pop top in it? even if you dont sleep up there it makes it much easier to cook / move around when it is raining of course. :D We are not sure what we are doing yet, I like the look of the tin tops but the pract...

that looks excellent, does it have a working cooker and sink? it looks quite good condition, expecially compared to mine. To be honest I haven't checked it over properly, It is a home made interior with a flavel grill/hob a porta potti and a back seat that makes into a bed somehow. We have a couple...

a good cure for rust is simply paint another flower on it :D That's my sort of thinking, along with turning the radio up to drown out strange noises :D Well I started to clean her up but rain stopped play, so the worst of the green mold and rust runs are cleaned off, but still needs a couple of hou...

Ok may have got it a bit wrong.

It seems that with the engine running all gears engage but no drive in any of them.

Also the clutch pedal seems too have gone hard?

What are we thinking ?????????????

Thanks for all replies. Well we purchased Priscilla (old owner named her),1989, 1900 engine. She looks pretty sound underneath, but as mentioned rusty around windows however it was v v cheap - all good. Now for the bad bit. As it had stood for a quite a while the brakes had stuck on and the owners h...

Thanks for replying shepster. The bodywork thing is not a major problem as my husband is a welder and the van is really cheap. I looked on the JK site an cannot find any repair parts for this area. I just wondered if anyone knew if they were available. The mechanics could be another story however :)

Advice before van purchase please

We are looking to buy a Type 25, however apparently is has rotted away around the side windows.

Has anyone tackled this before and is the part/panel available for this repair.

Beware if we go ahead with the purchase, many more stupid questions to follow :)

Thanks Karen
