Adjusting tappets

Hi all looking for a bit of help.
Tried ot adjust tappets today ,
Loosened lock nut , backed off adjust screw
Tightened till touching no rocking.
But thats as tight as it will turn can't get the two full turns .
Any ideas as I don't want to force it damaging screwdriver slot.

I'd say ignition amplifier. Mine went a couple of years ago. stopped dead. Got second hand one, It was a bit different than my one it had cooling plate. Banged in, off she went. Not being the same as old one was a bit worried so I got new one. Anyhow about a month ago van started to die spluttering ...

I spoke to soon.
Tried fan again before fitting grill.
Nothing on low speed.
Nothing on high speed,but I can hear relay clicking on high.

Thanks lads sorted!
Had not seen relay above fuse box.
So I didn't go near that.
I know where it is now for next time.
Just unplugged plug on back of fuseboard
For relay 24 and remade it.
Checked all connections.
Hey presto fan on both speeds :ok

Where is 50amp fuse?
Changed over relay with fog lamp relay.

Checked 30a fan fuse in fuse box
Not sure what stage came on.

Thanks for the reply.
The fault must be between plug and the fan.
Or maybe earth problem.
I have 12v at plug.
Strange that it came on once.
The usual fitted new fan belt ,new temp gauge sender as gauge not working. 2 fixes equals 1 breakage.
Won't get near it today pissing rain outside.

Hi all In a spot of bother. I was checking my fan was working. I shorted centre pin and outer pin, fan came on no scraping sounded smooth. I then shorted center and other outer pin, nothing. Thinking I might have got it wrong I tried the two outer pins no fan. Now no mater what combination no fan at...

surf rack

hi i am planning to put a surfboard rack on the side of my high roof.
gonna use standard clamps on gutters and use screw fixings on the westy roof .( already there)
so im looking for any good pics or info from any one who has done this.

castrol now recomend 10w 40 (cos they are getting rid of the 15w40) tried it once got better mpg but the van did not run as smooth or as quiet it runs better on 15w 40. castrol seem to make it up as they go along always recomending the most expensive. i hav a 96 bmw 318 and castrol now recomend full...

i know its not advisable to simply up the fuse
but the last time the fuse blew it got me home in the rain.
the wipers are not slow or struggling.
and it dosent blow straight away it might last a day or two
ill guess ill take out motor and have a gander

please can anyone tell me why my wiper fuse keeps blowing.
i have put a 20amp in for the moment.
10 amp works for a while then blows
