Is that a fairly common problem? Also, any idea which Weber I should go for? I can't check it as I abandoned it near Lyme Regis yesterday outside a garage who said they'd look at it when they get round to it :( If its non-injection and a Pierburg carb that's likely the problem. Swap it for a Weber.

'86 Polo question

Hi all, Just looking for some help on my old Polo Coupe S: It's cutting out / running on 3 when it reaches a decent operating temperature, particularly on a constant throttle. It feels like it may be fuel starvation or something similar (it has a fuel filter fitted, clean) but does anyone have any e...

I ask as I tested an area under a wheel arch using the pressure can & pump and the stuff still hasn't dried. Should I use a heat gun or something?

Excuse me for the dumb-but-related question.

This Waxoyl stuff, does it dry hard or just hang around looking gooey?

Sanding bodywork

I'm going to be bodging the paintwork on the chuggabug in the next few weeks and started rubbing down the worst of the panels last night by hand.

I decided after an hour or so that this was going to tick me off big-time.

An electric sander to do the existing paint/crap isn't a big no-no is it?

I find JK extremely helpful. Being a bit new to this I have sent emails to them on a few occasions asking what part number(s) I needed to order for a specific problem or area and they have always been delivered quickly too.

So, having taken the instrument thingummy off (no sign of any circuit board, so I assume no buzzer) before the journey to work, I set off and waited until the noise started. Sure enough after a while the buzzing started so I waggled the speedo cable about a bit, gave the dial a smack or two, that so...

Okay, thanks for all the help guys, I shall try and analyse what's going on when it happens. One thing that hasn't been mentioned is the speedo when it happens. The bussing seems to come from behind the speedo, is that right? Also, the speedo itself seems to bounce about a bit when the buzzing occur...
