Re: Morocco: More Dunes and the Atlas

Well said Noomo. Rain in Merzouga, that's a novelty! We've just got back to Spain after 3 months in Morocco and would recommend the trip to anyone priviledged enough to be able to take it. A country of contrast and contradictions which can, at times, be tiring and overwhelming but the kindness and g...

Re: 1989 California, should leisure battery charge via hook up?

Thanks for the replies folks, we've got as far as Marrakech and have parked for up to five days at a time with no power issues so I reckon we'll be fine for this trip. Will look into the tanya link when we get back. Thanks again.

simoncummins wrote:There should be a black box under rear seat with louves in it on the opposite side to the units. It is like a battery charger fed by a mains feed from where the socket is it should hummmmmm and get warm this should then feed both batterys with 12v.

Definitely not there but thanks for the info.

Re: 1989 California, should leisure battery charge via hook up?

Test the Buzzing Black Box under the rear seat. Cheers Tom, Nothing's buzzing and I can't see a black box, only a clear box with 'Truma' written on it which I'm pressuming powers the propane heater? I'll have a closer snoop around tomorrow as we're in Spain at the moment and the better half has pul...

Thanks Simon, looks like something's not working somewhere then. The plug socket is working fine so the hook up would appear to be ok, does anyone have any ideas where/what to check next or had a similar problem?

1989 California, should leisure battery charge via hook up?

Hi folks, as the title says. The leisure battery in our 1989 California 1.6td charges fine from the alternator but doesn't charge when connected to an electrical hook up. Should it... or do we stick with carrying a small battery charger around with us to top up on site? Thanks in advance for any adv...

Thanks for the speedy responses. I had taken a look at the wiki but had missed the obvious. I'll keep my fingers crossed it's the electrics as I had a problem with battery charging that traced back to dash circuitry. But for now those few drops of oil are keeping my feet firmly on the ground. Whatev...

Buzzer of Doom on a 1985 1.6D Transporter?

Hi, On the final 100yds of a 10 mile trip today the oil light came on accompanied by it's irritating electrical buzzer, this was shortly followed by the temp light illuminating. The temp gauge was reading only halfway and has, so far as I am aware, been functioning ok. Oil and water levels seem to b...
