To be honest, for the first few times drivin ours i found the gearbox bit of a nightmare, not just because of the dog leg set up(used to drive old merc van with same gearbox). I put it down to being lhd and not being used to using right hand for changing gear. You'll get used to it pretty quick, abs...

Good choice in camper, only thing that didn't work on ours was the eber. Hope its a good un mate :)

Hi T25Wannabe,

We've got an 89 Westy California, just been taxed in sept was £185/12 months. Insurance just over £300 for both of us, although the other half doesn't like driving it (lhd). what model westy are lookin at?

My vans a 89 German import, was registered with no probs(as far as i know)and has been through 2 mots. Nobodys mention owt about it, does this mean legally it should be changed to mph? Only want to know out of interest as it doesn't really matter to me either way :)

Used it on kitchen cupboard doors in my first flat, looked not to bad, but took ages. wish i could have afforded Fablon! Would have been much quicker.

We got the £20 ones from VW Heritage, seem to be good quality, plenty chrome on them. was advised not to buy the
cheapies (dad in motor trade) as they wouldn't last long :)

Removing tint from windows

I've been removing the tint film off the side windows, but the glue stays firmly stuck to the glass. Used a stanley blade to scrape glue off, but don't know what to use on the rear window as i don't want to damage the rear heated screen. Has anybody got any suggestions on what solvents would do the ...
