Re: Master cylinder failed.....HELP

Thanks guys, I kind a thought it could be done through the speedo binicle. Gone and striped the dash board of as I had a few niggling issues that needed further investigation. Slight leak from the he Heater matrix, a horn that likes to toot on its own, and the clutch push rod for ordeal in serious n...

Master cylinder failed.....HELP

Just had the brakes fail on my 1900 MV Doka...! Can any of you chaps tell me what's involved in taking out the dash board to get to it and is and are the parts Syncro specific or are the same as 2 wheel drive. As far as I've heard there are sheer bolts holding the steering colum in and apart from th...

Re: Scottish gathering.

Really good stop over in a lovely little bit of Doms woodland. Great to all meet up and use our Syncros for what they were built for. Will have to persuade Dom to get his Syncro up the top of the hill."....... :D

Re: Hybrid clutch issues

Yep there is nothing worse than finishing a repair or replacement task only to find things are not right. Here is my thinking on your clutch issues. The lever arm could be slightly bent or the fingers that hold the thrust bearing bent and not square in relation to the flywheel face. The lever arm co...

Re: Bypassing the Cat on 2.1MV HELP

Thanks for the offer Simon, Due to the urgency to get my Doka up and running again Mc gill came to the rescue with a spare intermediate pipe which we fabricated up as a bypass pipe. Used the Oxy Sens fitting of the knackerd CAt and all in was a real easy and quick fix. Have ordered a new Oxy sensor ...

Re: Bypassing the Cat on 2.1MV HELP

Thanks for that Simon.......but not the right solution at the moment. I have a New Exhaust box which is the shorter one for a Cat Conv. which I want to keeping in place so that the Cat can be replaced at a later date for the American emissions standards as my Doka will probably end up with a mate wh...

Re: Hybrid clutch issues

Here is my 2 pence worth, All the above problems I've come across before on various VW busses. The one thing I have found that is often overlooked is the lever arm pushing the thrust bearing off centre to the gearbox shaft due to mix and match of parts over the years. If the arc of the leaver arm is...

Bypassing the Cat on 2.1MV HELP

Just fitted a new set of Exhst. pipes to my 2.1 MV petrol Doka and realized I,ll need the short bypass pipe to join to the exhaust box rather than replace the cat. conv. I know that this is a common practice but I just can't find anyone at the end of the phone that has one in stock or can tell me if...

Re: Scottish Syncronauts September gathering and offroad weekend

Yep well done Alister, Oli said she really enjoyed her day pottering around by herself in me old trusty Doka it was just a pity we had both been a bit poorly as of late and could not camp up for the weekend. Well done Aqua Man for jumping in at the deep end with your White Submarine and testing thin...

Re: Stalling..ahhh!

Just to give you a further bit info that may have been overlooked...... I notice you've got 16" wheels and a bit of Suspension lift as has my Doka which does have a tendency to STALL on full lock with PS until I remember to re-grease the front couplings on the shafts. I had to replace th...
