Re: Throttle cable clamping bolt on '82 T25 2.0L CU RHD manual tranny
I replaced my throttle cable yesterday. I managed to do it via the indicator hole / underneath the van with wheels ramps under both drivers side wheels. You get a much better view of everything. Took me a couple of hours all together and it was the 1st time I'd done one.

Re: Accelerator/ throttle very notchy
you say "carbs" rather than carb.... If your van has had a pair of big carbs (webers?) fitted, those will impact driveability - especially if not tuned perfectly. It sounds as though a stiff throttle pedal is part of the issue, but poor part throttle manners is probably what is really cau...

Re: Accelerator/ throttle very notchy
Ok, swearing now over and complete new cable run, pedal push rod, clip, pin. All greased up and still the same problem. It's slightly better but not by much. Below is a link to a video (before the cable swap - but still the same now) of the throttle mechanism to see if anyone can see something I c...

Re: Accelerator/ throttle very notchy
It was a typo re: carbs. I've just had a good look around underneath and it def looks like the cable. The protective plastic cover that should cover the assembly underneath is also missing, so there's lot of old grease / grunge built up. The gromet is also missing so parts of the cable have been ...

Accelerator/ throttle very notchy
Hi all, I've got a T25 1.9 DG that has an issue with the throttle. When I put my foot on the accelerator there is no movement in it until you build up a fair amount of pressure. Then it suddenly release and you're at a silly amount of revs. This makes any manoeuvre from standstill an absolute nightm...

Re: Newly purchase T25 - Subaru 2.5 in it - Engine Temp question
Is it using the Subaru temp sender or, modified to use to use the VW one? My loom was done by Subaru Surgery (2001 EJ25) over a year ago and I think he adds a resistor to the circuit to get the Subaru sensor output roughly in line with the VW gauge but there may be other ways of doing it. Do you ...

Re: Newly purchase T25 - Subaru 2.5 in it - Engine Temp question
Update on this one. I got it up to operating temp (3/4 on the engine temp again.) Checked out the engine with my laser thermometer and no part of the engine was over 90c so I've now confirmed that my gauge is just showing around 90C at 3/4. I can live with that. I did notice that the coolant tank...

Re: Newly purchase T25 - Subaru 2.5 in it - Engine Temp question
The only thought I have is a dirty or tired coolant shortage sensor... Or a shortage indicator module playing up. But as said already, if it behaves well, and doesn't sneak past the 3/4 mark, then I would not worry. The gauge is just a guide, not an exact reading of the true engine temperature. It ...

Perfect thanks, I'll dig out the thermometerdavidoft1 wrote:Feel the hoses and get a laser thermometer to check actual engine temp, mismatches sender and gauges can be unreliable but if the gauge is steady it’s most likely the temps fine

Newly purchase T25 - Subaru 2.5 in it - Engine Temp question
Hi all, I recently bought a well looked after1986 Reg T25 that had a Subaru conversion done in 2014 with a pre 2003 Legacy engine. It's done 5k since the conversion. It was used only occasionally by it's previous keeper and kept indoors. I'm using it more regularly but have noticed that the engine...

Re: Recommendations for keeping the T25 outside
Thanks for the advice. I have something that could give some level of protection. Maybe it's time for a car port. Hard standing is a good start as it will keep it out of the damp ground. Do you have a location in the lee of a building? So it isn't bearing the brunt of the weather? If you could build...
