Re: Fuel in Oil - Help
The electric pump has been fitted for about 2 years with no previous problems. I am using a fuel pressure regulator but have no idea how to check if it has failed. Any suggestions?

Fuel in Oil - Help
We have a 1982 2.0 Aircooled which was running just fine until a week ago. She started misfiring and backfiring when started and using a lot of fuel. Compression check showed low compression on one cylinder(4). Checking the oil showed that it is now an oil / petrol mix so I now know where the extra ...

Re: Is my side elevating roof missing something please?
It's a Danbury conversion. Absolutely identical to mine which came with the Danbury Badges still on. SGS engineering sell the gas struts but they sell two different varieties and, like you, the struts are too rusty to get the numbers off. If you find out which struts you need and where to get them, ...

Best place for engine parts
I am planning a top end rebuild of my 1982 2.0 Aircooled. I have lost compression on one cylinder on each side, checked all the obvious, adjusted the hydraulic lifters etc and have come to the conclusion that it is going to be new barrels and pistons and probably heads as well. Won't know for defini...

Re: Starter Motor not turning
Genius
Started first time after a gentle tap with a hammer. Shame the previous owner dropped the suspension, didn't make getting to the solenoid any easier. Now just have to clean the oil off my face!!!
Thanks for the help.

Starter Motor not turning
My Van's been laid up for a few month's while I'm working on the bodywork. I have started her a couple of times each week and run her out of the garage to work on her and back in at the end of the day - no problem. Yesterday, I had some friends coming round to help lift the roof off and she wouldn't...

Seam Sealer
I am prepping the van for a repaint and wondered what is the best seam sealer to use. Seams are generally pretty good thanks to an underseal from new so only have a few small areas to sort. I am stripping out the interior to get to the back of any problem areas so am confident that I can stop / dela...

Hi can anyone help please. I have a1982 Danbury T25 with a side hinged pop top. Where the hinges are conected to the roof the bodywork is rusting, almost through in places. So I need to replace a section of roof and refix the hinges to solid metal. Where can I get the gromet thingeys that are fixed ...

Re: 1982 Aircooled - What is the second dial for?
My speedo must be faulty or THE second dial isn't working properly. I hit 95 mph and got no warning of impending destruction!!!
Thanks for all the help.

1982 Aircooled - What is the second dial for?
This may sound like a daft question but I have recentky bought a 1982 Aircooled. There is a dial on the instrument panel next to the speedo which doesn't work. It has calibration but no numbers, a face but no hands and appears to have been disconnected as there is a spare cable behind it which looks...

Re: Slow top speed and struggling on hills
Getting sorted. Compression test came back okay. Mechanic has set up timing and hand set twin carbs. Top speeed is now over 70 and pulls up hills easily. Getting THE carbs balanced on Friday so hopefully even better then. Considering the van had previously been set up by a "VW Expert" it's...

Re: Slow top speed and struggling on hills
There was a fair bit of slack in the cable (1cm)which I've taken up and took her out for a spin. Top end is better but still struggling on hills. There is a lack of long straight flat roads around here so until I get her on a dual carraige way it's difficult to see how much better top speed is. I'll ...

Re: Danbury side elevatig roof bed query
Hi I bought a t25 Danbury with the side elevating roof just last week and had exact;ly the same question. The barrier / head rest that you talk about makes sense but there is no sign that one was ever fitted to my van. The two halves of THE bed almost seem to have been cut to size so that the centre...
