Re: Battery drained after long ride
alternator voltage regulator has probably failed/brushes worn out, so the engine and everything else has been draining the battery, easy to check with multimeter, if you don't see 14v ish at the battery with engine running then you are not charging the battery from the alternator worth carying a sp...

Battery drained after long ride
I've been experiencing some electrical issues. I drove about 5 hours with the van and the next morning, the van would not start. The voltage on the battery was 9,4V, so I recharged it and this time the van started and drove without any issues. During the 5 hour drive I experienced some electrical is...

Re: Faulty Fuel Gauge - Anyone Else Experiencing This?
In my case, the little nut corresponding to the fuel gauge on the back of the blue foil was slightly loose. When I tightened it, the fuel gauge immediately came on.

Re: Speedometer, fuel gauge, temp gauge not working
work the other way, what is the resistance of the fuel sender as seen at the 14 pin plug, with the plug disconnected and meter lead on pin and other lead on a good body earth ? If it is zero (ie continuity to earth) then there's a wiring fault between fuel tank sender and the dash, but the gauge sh...

Re: Speedometer, fuel gauge, temp gauge not working
Today I thought I'd have another crack at these issues. I gave up last year after replacing the voltage regulator didn't work but I've been having nightmares about running out of fuel while driving so I thought I'd give it another go. The speedometer was fixed last year by my mechanic. Apparently he...

Re: Speedometer, fuel gauge, temp gauge not working
I tried replacing the 10V TCA700Y voltage regulator on the back of the dash with a L78S10CV one, but that didn't work.
Any suggestions for where I should look next? How do I know the blue foil is not simply degraded?

Sliding door trim
What does the trim/threshold on your sliding door look like? I just put a new floor in and am a bit stuck for ideas on how to trim the end near the sliding door. I know there are several pre-made options available but I find them a bit expensive, except if I opted for the plastic version, which prob...

Re: Are these rock 'n roll hinges?
Floorboard panels are 'different'. Mmm, what do you mean by different? Are you saying if I fitted different panels, I could make it work (=move the couch backwards a little)? Well, they do seem a little overkill when it's common to use 3mm ply/hardboard but heh, who am I to judge? I doubt anything ...

Re: Are these rock 'n roll hinges?
Look identical to r&r hinges that I fitted in my sprinter years ago. They work perfectly alright. Maybe realign the boards but I guess whoever fitted them looked at them carefully. I'm thinking if it could be because of the blocks he used underneath the boards or that he fit them in the wrong p...

Re: Are these rock 'n roll hinges?
Could be from a fold out sofa bed, the plywood base boards should end up close together when the bed is opened out flat. I would buy some new hinges and do a proper job, it looks a bit naf. You could well be right. The base boards don't seem to get any closer when opening the bed. I've thought abou...
