Painting the Dashboard

Howdo,

My 1980 Westy has a Black Dashboard. I would much prefer the Brown example but good used ones are rather steep in price.
Has anyone painted their dashboard? Or even laminated perhaps?

TIA

Re: VW T25 Panel Van

Back in 2022 when I purchased Bezza I got a set of UNIROYAL 185 80 R14 102/100R RAINMAX 3 | Just Tyres .
When I got the 15" Alloys I sold them on to a friend for her '73 Bay window Westy. Far better than the Chinese 'Ditch-finders' she had previously.

Does the Panel Think ..

My Fellow Vanagonaughts , I have fitted 'Bezza', my Westphalia Joker with a set of 15"  GoWesty OEM Replica Alloy Wheel Bundle [Bus/Vanagon]  along with a set of 315/65/15C Goodyear Cargo-Grip tyres  https://club8090.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/pimp.gif I was fishing for ideas about what fellow ...

Re: MOT Fail Emissions Advice

Dunno if this will help, When emissions testing first became part of the annual MOT my trusty Amanda , (A 547 LTA where are you now?), also failed on the Hydrocarbons. The MOT tester allowed me to take Amanda along the M62 for a sympathetic 'thrashing'. When retesting the emissions the Hydrocarbons ...

Re: 2.0 air cooled gearbox 1981

Here's a techy tome from GoWesty about early T25/Vanagon gearbox Shifter Systems: Why the '80-'82 Vanagon System is Terrible! – GoWesty

Food for though  :|

FWIW I still have Bezza's 1980 box . All new shift bushes and links plus a CSP short shift kit make a BIG difference  :ok

LED (DOT approved) Headlights

Bueno Estente, I have seen such as  7 inch LED headlights LAMP fit Land Rover Defender VW T25 T3 Vanagon sealed beam | eBay UK  on Fleabay and wondered if my fellow Vanagonisti have fitted such Headlights to their trusty Brick. I am currently using LED Bulbs in the stock H4 Headlights but proper LED...

Re: Drop arm Bush replacement

Oh b*gger! I mean't to say the drop arm for the anti-roll bar that bolts to the strut bar that bolts to the lower control arm. Early arms are slightly curved whereas later arms are straight. I read somewhere on the Vanagon forum @ samba.com that is possible but not without a struggle. As my Gran use...

Drop arm Bush replacement

How do,
Having got Bezza, my 1980 Westy up on ramps to cure the noisy/sloppy gear change with new bushings a thought crossed my mind while I was on a Bush changing fetish :P
Can I change the drop arm bushes while my T25 is up on ramps at the front? Can it be done without removing the wheels?

TIA

Early & Late Fuel level senders

Fellow Vanagonisti,  One of my winter projects is to make the fuel tank on Bezza, my 1980 Westy, cease leaking whenever I fill her up. Going by her plastic fuel filler neck and reasonable looking tank I'll hazard an educated guess that they have been replaced in the recent past.  Nevertheless...

Re: Weber ICT 34 Carbs

Hola Amigo,  I have a set on Bezza, my 1980 LHD Westy and I am very happy with 'em  :D I recently checked the jetting with  Running Weber Ict's on a Vw Aircooled engine - wayoutwestie  for the 2.0 CU Type 4 Engine and apart from the mains being a bit smaller all was well.  FWIW I am a 'Luddite' t'in...
