Thank you guys, my dad had a look this morning and he found most the leak off pipes were cracked or brittle and was leaking fuel from there which was running down the back of the engine

Standard 1.6JX by the look of it. A 2.5 lump would be a lot bigger. More than likely to be the rocker cover gasket going by the position of the trail of oil. A good de-grease and hosing should make it easy to trace. Yeah gonna give it a clean off at the weekend and see how it is just the rocker cov...

2.5 diesel? The correct engine would help - unlikely to be a 2.5 lump. But the pics look odd to me so may well be an exotic conversion. Pics from the top also would help identifying it. As above, a full degrease will enable you to identify the leak area. Yeah I was thinking a 2.5 diesel is strange,...
