Re: Jammed heater control
Thanks all for your help, I managed to extract the wire from the middle lever so it now just goes to the top one and all levers work freely. Could use a replacement 'nob' as one had been glued on, but it's OK for now. I had to manipulate the top wire so it didnt just drop straight back through and g...

Re: Jammed heater control
Thank you for the guidance. The wires goes through the top lever down to the second lever which means that the top two levers are always linked together, I can't adjust the temperature independently of the direction adjustment (directed to clear window etc). Not to mention the constant bending of th...

Re: Jammed heater control
Thank you, have managed to get the cover off. It looks like there is a small wire that goes through the top lever and down through the middle lever to the metal plate that separates the top two levers from the bottom lever. The wires scrapes the metal plate which makes an awful noise. Is this suppos...

Jammed heater control
Well not fully jammed, just jammed together. I can't move the top 2 levers independently, they both move at the same time. It feels mechanical just behind the controls but I can't get access easily. Do I need to take the whole dash off or is there another way? I don't want to force plastic and break...

Re: Dashboard illumination lights
Thankfully the roads in the peak district have potholes, and after a trip up there for the weekend, all lights are now working.
Thanks for your assistance!

Re: Dashboard illumination lights
Not sure how, but after all the jiggling, I managed to get one of the lights working. No idea how, but I can now tell roughly how fast i am going at night.
Thanks for your assistance, will update after i have done some more jiggling.

Re: Dashboard illumination lights
Thank you, had to unscrew the dashboard to get access in the end, as it's LHD that bit wasn't accessible from underneath.
Tested it and it got 11.3 volts at pin 1.
Suggests the issue is either the lights, or a connection to the lights. That bit looks tricky, can it be fixed?

Re: Dashboard illumination lights
Thank you, I was doing it wrong, although the only white connector is too far down behind the console to reach, i will need to remove the whole console to do that.
Can do if needed but want to make sure.
Picture of the white connector, is that the correct one?

Re: Dashboard illumination lights
I don't know that i did this correctly, but...
I wiggled the white connector out a bit, and tested the volts between each of the blades that went into the fuse box. 3 of the pins showed 12v. The top one did not show any volts at all.
Does that answer the question?

Re: Dashboard illumination lights
Thank you for the help and suggestions. This is my fuseboard, it's a LHD so by the driver door. I have checked the 4 fuses across the top and are all fine, the 4 boxes all fit ok, have wiggled but they don't move much at all, and no change in the lights. Gave it a thump, no joy there either 😄. Might...

Dashboard illumination lights
Drove the van at night for the first time in a while, and everything worked, except the dashboard illumination lights. They both used to work, now neither do, so hoping the issue isn't hidden under the dash as I would prefer to leave that alone. Could this be a simple fuse issue, in which case does ...

Re: Leisure battery advice
This thread is great timing, my current leisure battery has died and needs replacing, and i so want something with a bit better life, and greater robustness so Lithium seems like a good option. Current setup is a Sargent EC155 that does the split charging, and their website suggests that it might wo...

Re: Buzzing, but not in a good way.
Update. Thank you all for your help, new battery purchased and it started first time. Have bought and installed a battery 'tender' to maintain it while idle which will protect it when not used. This forum once again proves its value, I was close to getting it picked up for more of an expert to have ...

Re: Buzzing, but not in a good way.
I was advised that there is a drain, from the immobiliser, the Sargent EC155 PCU and also the radio.
I replaced the radio, but there will always be a bit from the other two.
The battery i had was only 2 years old, so i think finding a way to maintain charge when idle is the way to go.
