In your reply you suggest starting the Eberspacher running with the engine running. What is the reason for this. Is it to ensure that ther is enough voltage to fire up the glowplug?

I have just bought a Westfalia with a 2.1 petrol engine. The van has an eberspacher heater. There is a control unit at the back of the van with a rocker switch which turns on the heat or just blows air, in addition there is a red and a green light and a dial which goes from 1-7.
