Just blank it off , it operated the hot/cold feed off the exhaust which is not needed in uk climate , it’s one less thing to worry about

The other vac pipe goes from the base of the carb to the air box , and you can just blank it off on the port on the base of the carb and , as long as its blanked off airtight , forget about it

How about sorting the leak first ? Actually get under it and clean everything off and dry it all so you stand a chance of seeing what is the issue . Fill it up with water (not coolant) and watch where its coming from , before going down it doom and gloom route . It may well be coming from a hose or ...

Last time it did a heater motor it took me a full day from driving in to driving out , but that was only dash out , heater box out , swap the fan motor and put it back together , with several brews and tidying of bits under and around the dash …. You can swing the sliding door out of the way to adjust the hook , have a axle stand set at the height of the bottom of the door and roll it open until the middle hinge roller is at the gap in the track and lift it off and then the door will be out of the way and rest it on the axle stand , or remov...

The fact the rev counter is erratic at the time the misfires happen says the coil is the first place to start looking, as the rev counter gets its signal from the coil directly
