Honestly its “plug and play” you already have the old one out , plug it in and plush the switch into the hole .

Part number circled . The one you got new is for a t4 or a golf i think

Firstly ,

Secondly the headlight switch is age related , but you should be able to get the part number off the back of it .

The question ( that you maybe wont know the answer to until you have done more miles ) is , is it now loosing oil , has the newly corrected level on the stick dropped ? With a wbx if you over fill it it will burn , condensate , magically remove the extra oil in a remarkably quick time to where it ne...

Only thing i can think is the old barrels are worn and the new handles are not, maybe give the new handles a bit of a swirl about with Emory cloth or alike in the barrel hole ??

The horn is neg switched and ignition constant live to the horn , so put a temp independent +12v to the horn and see if its the switching

I honestly cannot remember , but when i did ShMbO’s a few years ago , i measured inside the van from the battery to the middle of the van from left to right and then through the van and up the firewall to the engine lid and it was just a tad too long when i fitted it .

What size id the wire ? I suspect a PO has plugged something in that blown a fuse so did the idiot thing and put a bigger fuse in ?

Let’s be honest here , £350 to swap a auto gearbox is cheap , its four and half hours at garage price and unless they are used to these vans , i doubt they will complete it in that time , so if you go for that , find out if thats a fixed price …….
