Re: Does a CT engine use Type 1 main bearings?
Hey there im no expert but I saw the 1600cc T2 have the same type bearings if that helps.
Found this on my local dealers webpage:
”CRANKSHAFT MAIN BEARING SET, +0.50 MM CRANKCASE SIDE / +0.50 MM CRANKSHAFT SIDE, 1.6L Aircooled VW T2 AND VW T3 ENGINES”
Good luck & keep on truckin’

Re: Vibrations on right turning
There's a measurement spec for the body/chassis in Bentley so it's possible to measure it all to see if there's something amiss left over from old accident/repair Oh really, i dont have the Bentley, but if you wanna send me those photos in the manual, that would be of great help, Many thanks ✌️😌

Re: Vibrations on right turning
So you are now running a badly worn tyre on the opposite side ? I'd want a new pair on the front personally, and then get the alignment checked, including the caster as if that's unbalanced would give the original symptoms and uneven wear. Otherwise Play in steering rack, or mounts, play in tie rod...

Vibrations on right turning
Hey y’all, I’m trying to chase down the problem of getting vibrations when turning right. To give you some history, the camper bus has in my 3 years of owning it wandered alittle to the right, felt this get real bad last time going from Sweden down to Spain. I’ve noted that the left tyre got very un...

Hello, I was in Reinosa, Cantabria 2 weeks ago.... snowy mountains and surfy beach.. :D So.. misfire on start up that goes away when warming up... Re: Moutning bolt on carb loose/stripped
Hi everyone, thank you!
Yeah I’m not sure what’s up with that… , but I managed to get a insert thread in there, and it sits perfectly now

In case this wouldn’t work I would most def put a bolt trough with a nut, but now I could use the original one just with a new

Moutning bolt on carb loose/stripped
Hey y’all, I just noticed that the front mounting bolt for my solex 34 pict 4 carburettor was loose as I could even wiggle it with my hand alittle, soon I realised the threads in the carburettor was stripped/bad so I could not tighten it up.. that explains why I felt some change in the cold startup ...

Re: Dipstick length
I just orderd the 070115611B for my CT, and it was a perfect fit, the old dripstick that the previous owner had welded together and that had the rubber fitting loose by the handle was actually poking down to long and was showing that there is a bit more on the scale then the new original dipstick…so...

in which Vans did the CT engine come?
Hey y’all,
I was just curious, did the 1600 CT engine ever come out the production in camper vans and buses or only in the panel van models?
Big thanks
