Thanks for this - any advice as to how you carry out step 4?
Cheers

Great, thanks. I reckon this is as good a place to start as any!

Re: 1.9 Petrol - Not turning over - lights on dash, but nothing
Great, many thanks for this. I'm now hoping it's a fuel starvation issue related to the crappy hoses. The filter itself seems ok (no cracks etc) but I'll whip it off tmrw and have a closer look. I;ve seen phots of other engines where the fuel filter is just in side the engine compartment - is that ...

Re: 1.9 Petrol - Not turning over - lights on dash, but nothing
Thanks both - it's just had it's MOT!!! Surely that should have been picked up!
I'll change the hoses.
Still no further with the stalling/starting issue.....

Re: 1.9 Petrol - Not turning over - lights on dash, but nothing
So the van started again this morning (turned over immediately, and then took 10-15 secs to start), but after the auto choke turns off it just keeps stalling. If I can sort out that problem, at least the zero turn over problem won't be such an issue!! Is it just a question of adjusting the idle spe...

Re: 1.9 Petrol - Not turning over - lights on dash, but nothing
If the starter motor is turning over OK sometimes but sometimes nothing happens at all it could be the starter/ignition switch. The starter switch/wiring to the solenoid can get high enough resistance with age to cause problems getting the solenoid to engage (and make the starter motor turn). I've...

Temp gauge reading zero, but flashing
Hi guys
I have a 1985 T3 1.9 boxer petrol (water cooled).
Temp gauge is flashing but needle reading zero - coolant level is good.
I have a quick look round the forums, but is there an obvious place for me to start looking ?

1.9 Petrol - Not turning over - lights on dash, but nothing
Hi all We've just picked up a 1985 T3 1.9 Petrol, boxer engine, 99k miles Van drove fine on very short test drive, but on way home it started cutting out on idle at traffic lights. It then refused to turn over (lights on dash, but not even a click from the starter), but I eventually got it started. ...

Re: 1985 1.9 76hp waterccoled oil leak.
Great, thanks Steve Really useful thoughts. The seller seems salt of the earth type of bloke, and his mechanic reckoned that it didn't warrant further investigation at present, but obviously I've no idea if that was a load of flannel. But the Body work is pretty tatty as well, loads of scrapes and s...

1985 1.9 76hp waterccoled oil leak.
Hi. We're looking at a t25 with a 1.9 water-cooled engine (possibly the 76hp). It's got an oil leak. Engine has 100k on it, runs OK and is in regular use. The leak is currently only an advisory on the mot. Are we right in assuming it's not likley to be a simple repair and we might be looking at a re...
