Re: Mercedes Steels

Thought i'd add to the thread, have just fitted some 16in Merc Steels to mine, pn: 2114000102 (E-Class).  7.5Jx16, ET42.  Currently on the 225/55/16 Tyres they came with, needed 10mm spacers on the front for tyres to clear the upper arms. 10mm spacers also on the rear just for looks, and clears the ...

Re: Newly purchase T25 - Subaru 2.5 in it - Engine Temp question

Is it using the Subaru temp sender or, modified to use to use the VW one? My loom was done by Subaru Surgery  (2001 EJ25) over a year ago and I think he adds a resistor to the circuit to get the Subaru sensor output roughly in line with the VW gauge but there may be other ways of doing it.  Do you k...

Re: Subaru ez30d h6, 4eat auto gearbox in a coachbuild

Loving all these updates Jamie, i've got similar lipos/BMS in the garage awaiting some attention (once the brakes are sorted).

How do you feel about those T3 steering rack braces?

Re: Decent welders in Surrey/SW London? (inner & outer sills)

I had front seatbelt mount and some other minor bits repaired, and tank replaced by Surrey Auto Works just outside Ottershaw - so pretty close to you.  Had to book it in well in advance as they always seem busy (which I take as a good sign).  They have fairly labour rate, but were very pragmatic on ...

Re: Subaru conversion

Hi I'm in the process of converting my camper to a syncro and will be looking to replace the Subaru 2.0 with a 2.5 or 3.0 Subaru engine to cope with bigger wheels and extra weight. I also have a syncro pickup with a 2.5 Subaru CAN bus engine which given the larger wheels requires the extra oomph....

Re: Subaru conversion

Nick at Subaru Surgery is also helpful, I used a combination of his and RJES parts. I found a doner car, Nick broke it for me and shipped me engine and modified loom/ECU on a pallet.   Well worth it. Pre~2003 cars avoid the added complexity of Canbus looms and sticks to cable throttle. RJES site has...

Thanks guys!

Yes sorry, was a typo on SLV, I meant the SHC (SlaughterHouse Customs) dash repair kit.

New Fuel Sender - erratic out put on gauge

I had a new tank fitted a year or so ago, with all new lines, crossover etc and thought it would be sensible to fit a new sender at the same time.  It has behaved strangely ever since fitment, often not registering any fuel for  a while after filling it, then randomly going to max, I don't expect it...

Re: LifPo Leisure Battery capacity - 100Ah enough...?

In the usual spirit of 'f##k it' purchases, I've ordered cells and BMS from Fogstar.

Off to France next Sat evening...lets see if I can get it in and panels up before then .

The things I do for a cold beer...

LifPo Leisure Battery capacity - 100Ah enough...?

Hi all, any with any experience on 100Ah (or larger) LifPos capacity recommendations / limitations ? I currently have a 100Ah Lead Acid leisure battery under the rear seat, it's huge, heavy...and I believe now dead (<6V and not responding to charge) so I'm thinking it maybe time for an upgrade. I'm ...

Re: 2.1DJ to EJ251 Conversion - On the the road!

I'm using the Subaru Surgery shortened sump and very happy with it.  I'll see if I can dig out a pic of the underbody clearance, it sits ~5-10mm below the RJES engine bar. It's not 'cheap' but looking at my ground clearance (my van is lowered) was a necessity.   The flat sump also made installation ...

Re: 2.1DJ to EJ251 Conversion - On the the road!

Conversion looks tidy. I'm considering getting back into T25's and would be converting to subaru power. What was involved to fit the auto engine? Have seen write ups a wee bit more involved. I see Legacy's are a popular donor but is the engine in the foresters similar? cheers Kev Argh, I wrote out ...

Re: Best Engine to Meet Euro 4 or 6 Emissions? ULEZ issue

No T3 will pass an IVA - not going to happen!! My understanding is that the IVA only checks emissions to a similar level as the MOT, which is insufficient to establish a Euro classification. In any case, it wouldn't make any difference as TfL are only accepting conversions that have had extensive t...

Re: Best Engine to Meet Euro 4 or 6 Emissions? ULEZ issue

I know it's an old thread but thought I'd jump on rather than start a new one. My EJ25 is from a 2001 Legacy - Eur3 rather than Eur4, but Manufacturer NOx levels are well below requirement and it comes up as compliant on ULEZ checker. I now have: - V5 of the doner car (stating Eur3, and showing NOx ...

Re: Need to find permanent and switched lives for my engine conversion

On my 1990 2.1DJ there's a Ign Live (Black Wire, single spade connector 'T1c') in the black box in back near side corner of the Engine bay - assume there's similar on other years / engines?

Easiest spot if you need one at the front is the spare spades on the back of the fuseboard.
