Re: Heater fan gone - should I replace resistor pack with Jeep spec or PWM controller?
I did away with resistor pack, very happy with the variable controller, the first one failed after aBout a year and it was such an easy job to fix as I'd located it by the Ash that hole. Worth the extra effort I've now ordered a controller, as well as a few typres of resistor pack to decide once th...

Re: Heater fan gone - should I replace resistor pack with Jeep spec or PWM controller?
Removed and box split, fan was seized and resistor cracked in several pieces (air box showing signs of heat damage).
Planning on fitting an alternative resistor pack, currently liking the look of the MGF one, nice rectangular one with mounting holes.

Re: Heater fan gone - should I replace resistor pack with Jeep spec or PWM controller?
I guessed from the lack of response that it'l likely be fine to keep the OEM resistor pack. Good point on the heater hoses, will take a look at them once dash off. They're probably the only original heater hoses left on the van tbh. I wasn just planning on giving the matrix a clean tbh. Have the da...

Heater fan gone - should I replace resistor pack with Jeep spec or PWM controller?
Hi all, my heater fan is seized solid and pops fuse on 2+ speeds, so have new motor and seal/foam pack from BW ready to 'pop in'. While i'm there is there anything else I should be replacing or checking on the heater box while i'm in there? In my travels across the interwebs it looks like over in th...

Re: Speedo not working
Is the cable turning when you drive? Pull the cable from the clocks and drive round the block looking at the cable end (or jack it up and get someone to spin the wheel).
Also...check it's properly engaged on the back of the clocks.

Re: T25 legacy conversion wiring loom issue
I used this site for the manual/guides for my EJ25 engine, seems to have most of them on there https://jdmfsm.info/Auto/Japan/Subaru/ These links useful as well: https://charm.li/Subaru/ https://sl-i.net/FORUM/showthread.php?18087-Subaru-Factory-Service-Manuals-(FSM)-Every-Model-USDM-EU

Re: Coolant Temp LED Not working (No flashing or solid on when gauge Sig shorted to ground)
Oh man I can barely remember now...running factory subaru ECU with modified subaru surgery loom hooked into the body loom at the usual black relay box at rear corner of bay. IIRC the Temp sensor feed is from the subaru ECU and Level sensor loom is as per VW. But i'm not convinced the issue is relat...

Re: Coolant Temp LED Not working (No flashing or solid on when gauge Sig shorted to ground)
Mines a 1990 with the big clock, no factory rev counter. The SHC mini board that connects to the gauge itself has the posts Labelled.

Re: Coolant Temp LED Not working (No flashing or solid on when gauge Sig shorted to ground)
I did similar already - shorted the signal to ground terminals on the gauge itself (simulating V high temp). Needle goes to full scale, no LED. The SHC PCB replacement has been in the van for 4+ years working perfectly fine (with test flashes of LED on start up etc). Regarding polarity, I don't thi...

Coolant Temp LED Not working (No flashing or solid on when gauge Sig shorted to ground)
So, my coolant gauge LED does not illuminate. No flashing at start up, no flashing with level sender unplugged or 42/43 relay removed. Also, no illumination when I short Signal to Ground on the back of the gauge (mimicking V high temp, temp needle goes to Max). Ground and 10V supply at the gauge ...

Rear Passenger roof vent location? (Above doors / rear bench)
Morning all, i'm pretty certain my 1990 Van would have originally had the small upper rear vents in rear but they've been carpetted over at some point. Does anyone have any detailed images for locating them so I can find/reopen without ripping the roof lining out? And ideally details of the locati...

This is a pretty decent respository for Subaru (and a whole ton of other Jap) manuals/wiring: https://www.jdmfsm.info/Auto/

Reimo Turret/Mushroom pop top
Hi all, does anyone have one of the more recent Reimo mushroom/turret tops (with dampers/springs) they could take some measurements off? I've got the old one, it's held up with springs, but they are struggling with the weight of solar panels on the roof. The newer design appears to have dampers/str...
