Re: dash clock not working

The resistor with a measured resistance of 122 ohms is the resistor that fails if the capacitor goes short circuit, yours appears to be ok so just go ahead and re-fit the clock. If you want to test it before re-fitting, the large tag is the positive and the one you had to unsolder to remove the clo...

Re: dash clock not working

Really need a pic but if you are getting readings across the resistors then I would test the clock by attaching a 12v supply to it. One end of the resistor connects to the capacitor and the other end to the 12v supply, unfortunately I do not have a spare clock to photograph but as I said, test the ...

Re: dash clock not working

If you look at the circuit from above with the capacitor to your right the resistor is on the left and just as easy to change as the capacitor. If  you have a multimeter, set it to a low Ohms range and place the probes either end of the resistor, reading should be about 82 ohms.  Alternatively, con...

Re: dash clock not working

The value is not critical but any 100uf capacitor with a 16v or above working voltage will do. What is more important is the series resistor, you need to check this has not gone open circuit. It is located close the capacitor and connects to the capacitor positive. If the resistor has gone open cir...

Re: dash clock not working

Hi Guys, I'm replying to an old post in case someone on here has done the clock fix using the 'Brik-yard' link. My cluster/clock is very slightly different and on opening it up it actually only has one capacitor rather than the two mentioned in the guide. The single capacitor on my clock is marked E...
