So, randomly found it, I was fitting new springs and shocks, when I saw a thin blue wire (after I cleaned off years of crap)
Thought that's gotta be it, connected it up and battery light.

Just read your reply again, I have no relay box in the engine compartment, just a few wires that go to the distributor and the light clusters.

Alternator wire ?
Hi all, So..van is a early 1.6 air-cooled fella. Problem I'm having is he having removed the engine for work, upon re installation, I can't find the wire that goes to the alternator for the battery light. Has a blue wire coming from the alternator but has been cut? Any help would be appreciated Garry

Guys..I cant find any info from Google about this sensor, I'm thinking its for a oil temp gauge that was in the van at some point.
