Re: Solex pdsit carbs
This is mine prior to being cleaned. It looks like there’s a thread inside and it threw me!
Mine are rubber if you’re referring to the pipes that seal over the carb. Someone has used a cable tie previously to keep it on.
Cheers

Solex pdsit carbs
Evening all,
Should there be anything in this hole? It looks like it has a thread but in every picture I see and including my own it is empty.
Cheers

Fridge relay
Hi all, basic couple of questions if anyone can help; When the headlights are on should the led on the instrument cluster illuminate? Mine only lights up when I have full beam on. Secondly, I was under the impression the fridge relay should only kick in when the engine is running? Is this correct be...

Re: What is this?
Many thanks everyone, especially Colinthefox! I think they didn’t bother with the heater in mine as there was a giant square hole where it should have been on the floor.
Cheers again

Re: What is this?
It’s this part I’m referring to sorry. I didn’t realise I’d included the upside down fridge exhaust pipe that was sat on top of it in the photo!
It’s fixed in place by the way.

What is this?
Good afternoon everyone,
I’ve taken out my buddy seat from a 1980 Devon moonraker in order to measure up and build a new one.
Could someone tell me what this metal bracket/plate is for please as I’m debating whether to put it in the new one
Cheers all

Re: Split charge remains?
Hi and thanks for the reply. Not sure the pictures do it justice really, I purposely left out the fridge and pump wiring from the picture just to keep it simple and to know if it was a split charge system and what each cable was potentially for. Noted on the negative cable thickness. Everything was ...

Split charge remains?
Hello all, From my leisure battery bay I have wires going into a relay. They then disappear off to both behind the dash and to the main battery bay. I have attached photos in the hope someone can identify if it is an old split charge system and what is doing what? Basically from the relay (which is ...

Many many thanks. It’s a learning curve for sure! (Currently have both carbs dismantled across the kitchen floor replacing the gaskets and seals)

Good evening all, Been underneath the van today draining and refilling the gearbox. Touch wood everything went ok! However, when underneath, I noticed what is labelled as the fuel pump in the Haynes manual appeared to have a snipped pipe coming from it. And then further above a ‘newish’ cylindrical ...

Re: Identity needed please
Hi all, Many thanks for your replies. This is the only photo I have of my engine which isn’t the best but you can see I have no vac hoses into the air filter. Also that plastic tube on the box is open and not blanked off. When I replaced the air filter there appeared to be oil staining on the front ...

Good evening all, I’m new to this forum so I apologise if I should be introducing myself in another section. I’m known to everyone as Cookie and am the new proud owner of a 1980 2 litre air-cooled who is in need of a lot of love. (The van not me!) I’m relatively handy and have done the usual service...
