Re: Cu 2.0 Alternator adaptation
Thanks guys. Hope you all had a lovely Christmas. A bolt holding a plate, which holds in one of the bearings snapped as the inside face of the baring had ceased onto the shaft. Also I would like to increase the output slightly (to 65 amps), so that with the bolt issues (which, yes can be repaired) g...

Cu 2.0 Alternator adaptation
Hi all, Managed to snap a bolt on my 45amp alternator, and believe new replacements are impossible to find (ones that are any good). Has anyone here adapted a WBX alternator to fix the type 4 cu 2.0 engine? Some of these alternators look very similar, and I just wondered if I can get one to fit with...

Re: Sliding door handle wobble - Why?
Heritage describe it as a shim... i guessing it sits under the screw on the inside of the door pulling the handle in.

Re: Sliding door handle wobble - Why?
I don't seem to have the square holed washer.... thats interesting. I figured out what the moving part is within the door (I mentioned initially). The moving part moves across then the key is used, and slides across to (un)lock the door. Where does the squared holed washer site in relation to the m...

Re: Sliding door handle wobble - Why?
The screw is (was) tight.
I noticed you can buy a grommet/collar made of rigid plastic, which is designed to stop the wobble. I'm going to design and 3d print my own, but wondered if the wobble was intended or just wear/age.

Sliding door handle wobble - Why?
So, there is some wobble in the door handle on both of my sliding doors. Seems very common and doesn't seem to cause a huge issue, apart from scratching paintwork. But.... why does it wobble? It seems to door only locks when the handle is pushed towards the door, so its seems like its supposed to. A...

What coil are you running with a 123 Ignition
Hi, just installed a 123 Ignition switch dizzy on my type 4 cu 2.0…. All works great, am currently running it on a modern Bosch blue coil.
Just wondered what other coils people are running this on? Also, with/without ballast resistor?

Weber Idf floats - chasing my tail!!
Just wondered if anyone else has had this issue. If not, it may help someone in the future. Was setting up a new distributor the other day, so left the ignition on and fuel pump running. Then notice fuel poring into the main chamber on one carb (engine not running). After checking float heights a mi...

Re: Gearbox check over
Thanks. Can’t believe no one here seems to have used him… looks like plenty of boxes on his website. I installed a new clutch about 2 years ago…. Wish I’d have installed a new seal on the gearbox side but didn’t have the time (off camping and didn’t have gearbox oil at the time)….school boy error. D...

Re: Gearbox check over
Probably about 2-3000 per year. I think it’s more piece of mind and hopefullly one Less thing to worry about. I’d rather pay that sort of money, than cut a holiday short for the kids due to it breaking down on the way for a trip. Have you used them before? He has offered to take lots of photos of th...

Gearbox check over
Hi, I’ve been part of this forum for a while, but just reading as much as I can find…..not much of poster, but need some advice. I have a Type 4 CU 2.0… which I believe are the early 091 gearboxes, and am on a quest to make sure my camper is break down free (I’m trying to find the golden unicorn!!!)...

Early or late stub axle
Looking to change the front stub axle, as the threads on the centre shaft have gone, but little confused after reading a few forum posts on early and lates.
My vans from 1981 but I think I have a late stub axle, as there’s no threads in calliper mounting holes?!? Is this normal?
I have ATE Brakes.
