Re: more power from a 2.0 cu ?
In comparison my CT will cruise at 50-55mph, touching 60 occasionally. Hills depend on the run up, but I usually get to the top above 40mph. That is pretty empty, although it has a high top so wind can adds or remove 5-10mph.

I've just noticed I have a pipe in the top left which is blanked off in your photo. I'm not sure what it does

I'm not sure, but this is a photo of my CT engine bay without the pipes. Originally had a CU.

Re: Help identify wheels and tire pressure 215/65R/16C
Hi All, I thought I would add to this thread rather than starting another one. I am replacing my Tolimans (the ones in the photo at the top) with stock rims and tyres. Is it correct to think that it will just be a matter of swapping them over? No adjustments or bits to remove etc. The Tolimans and t...

Re: wear to distributor
Thanks for all the help. I discovered that I did have to remove the fuel pump base as well as the rod, or at least raise it a bit. After removing the studs it twisted out quite easily, and the drive came out easily as well. There were two shims, I added a 3rd and replaced the drive and new dizzy, ti...

Re: wear to distributor
Hello, Hi again, Can anyone confirm if I need to remove the pump base/plinth in order to remove the distributor drive? The drive is 47mm from the casing and I've read it is supposed to be 45mm, so we need to remove the drive to see what is going on. Thanks! Pete A bit of a 50/50 one here. You can...

Re: wear to distributor
Still trying to get the drive out. I realised the fuel pump and rod had to be taken off first, eventually. The drive comes out about 1" and then gets stuck. I've tried moving the crank slightly but it won't shift. Do I need to remove the fuel pump base as well? E D I T: If I need to remove th...

Re: wear to distributor
I have just removed the dizzy drive on a DJ and it had FOUR [emoji15] shims under it. I guess he had the same problem. I have been known to fit a third, so that would be my advice to fix your issue. Sent from my moto g(30) using Tapatalk Thanks, I am going to remove the drive next. I tried poking a...

Re: wear to distributor
Looking at the dizzys side-by-side, there are a couple of differences (powerspark on left, Bosch on right)
The length, shoulder and 'stop' are different.
I thought it would just drop in.

Re: wear to distributor
Hi, do you mean the one that goes on the dizzy shaft? Yes, I ordered one of those as per your video.sarran1955 wrote: ↑21 Jun 2022, 18:59 Hello,
Have you got the 'D' rubber washer and the spring between the camshaft drive and the distributor..
This may help:

Re: wear to distributor
could be the 2 thrust shims for the drive are missing, they go under the drive and if the drive has been pulled out (say because it was 180' out and previous owner wanted to correct that) and the person didn't know about them it is easy to displace one or both of them and they drop into the engine....
