Re: Domestic Electrics NON VW.
No not possible utilising just the switch. The switch as pointed out already will receive a permanent Live 230V and then have a "switched Live" on the other side of the switch. The main issue you face is the lack of a neutral conductor and earth conductor. A simple task for a certified ele...

Radius Rod Measurement
Hi All, Refitting some new radius rods and have hit a stumbling block. I took measurements as per the Bentley guide of the thread length from the back nut to end of thread.. however the new radius rods I have clearly have a much longer thread length making my noted measurement useless . (E D I T: To...

UPOL Raptor in the rear area Made a start with the raptor,, using a gravity fed spray gun, set at 2 bar. Made a nice fine textured finish rather than the usual blobby mess from the standard shutz style guns. https://i.imgur.com/FBXiRhU.jpg https://i.imgur.com/uvQCBZy.jpg https://i.imgur.com/ztwZ1HB...

After some time prepping the shell after the epoxy primer it was finally time to get the first coat of high build primer onto the whole shell.

Epoxy Priming the Shell!!! The time finally came to get the shell primed after all the bodyfiller, so a nice clean coat of epoxy primer was applied so i can see what last bits of filling need doing. The photos seem to show lots of dents on the panels, this is either where the epoxy is sunk into the...

Door Epoxy Priming, final bodyfiller touchup and High build primer. I made the most of the recent good weather to get the van outside to give me space to do the doors. The doors were setup in the garage and received a coat of epoxy primer. https://i.imgur.com/MhxAzq1.jpg After this the final bits o...

Seam sealing, stone chip and final paint of the underside. The van was mounted onto the rotisserie for what was the last time as it has since been sold. (the rotisserie was sold not the van!) managed to get all the seam sealing done. https://i.imgur.com/FURNZtV.jpg Then after this a good coat of UP...

Did i say i hate bodyfiller? took a while but it is getting the point where i am happy it is flat enough. not going for concours finish. very happy with the roof corners given they were built from nothing. https://i.imgur.com/ugzIzc0.jpg https://i.imgur.com...

Front Door Repairs
Same again! Strip, inspect, chop out and repair/replace.
The front doors were actually in very good condition, just a few minor repairs needed.. Made for a welcome change on the project.

Rear Door Repairs I have neglected to update this for a long time, i will splits the updates into the relevant sections.. the actual works were undertaken in the usual organised chaotic fashion. As always first task was to strip the door and find the rust to repair. https://i.imgur.com/XezQ4JV.jpg ...

Trailing arm plastic pad
Has anyone ever used a top rear spring pad for the bottom of the spring where it sits on the trailing arm?? I have 4 good top pads so could use these,, the van itself would sit 10mm higher due to the increased thickness.. not sure if I'm missing something obvious which means this would have a negati...

Re: Anti Roll Bars - Early fitted to late van
I cannot measure as I do not have the original ARB as it was rotten so threw out..
if dimensionally they are the same other than the diameter then ill just use the straight droplinks and we are sorted.
I just had it in my mind the ARB was a different shape between early and late vans.

Sliding Door Glass - Curved or Flat (Panel Conversion)
Hi All, I am struggling to find a definitive answer to the glass type to use for a sliding door or middle panel on a "converted" van.. some info says flat glass, some says curved. Personally I removed flat glass from my van, but in a donor converted panel sliding door I removed curved glas...
