Re: T25 1984 1900cc water cooled: Hydraulic valve lifters (HVLs)

Morning, thank you both for taking the trouble to reply, its very much appreciated. My still-in-bay strip down of all ancillaries is going well and not much blood loss up to now! So over the Christmas break I'm going to weigh up the pros and cons of dropping the lump out and going for a complete str...

Re: Coolant hose- thermostat housing to head

Yeah. Post a picture Or scroll through Brickwerks coolant hoses Or goto 7 zap vw. Choose typ2/syncro, then your year. Then pick the engine icon to find the schematic and grab the 9/10 digit VAG code, then google that code to find a supplier. https://volkswagen.7zap.com/en/rdw/ Many thanks for the g...

Re: Coolant hose- thermostat housing to head

DoubleOSevern, many thanks for taking the trouble to reply, much appreciated. Unfortunately, probably because i didnt describe the hose well enough, i dont think the one from Brickwerks is the one i need. The one linked to goes from the plastic 'H' shaped distribution unit that is connected to the h...

Re: Lumpy running and yep the old favourite a misfire...

Request - please let me know what your experience is of Hall Sender units, is malfunction a creeping thing or it works/doesn't work. And, how do i test mine to see if its ready for a swop out. I had a few odd moments over the space of a year which I couldn’t quite put my finger on. Initially I woul...

Re: Lumpy running and yep the old favourite a misfire...

Oh dear! l need more sleep... :run Ha! [emoji16] No worries. Meanwhile, back to the original question... It's not all that clear to me whether the engine now starts or runs from cold, if it just misfires when warm, or misfires/backfires all the time now. If the latter it might be that the di...
