Fan turning on when battery connected

Hi all,

Had my van standing for a while and now when I reconnect my battery, the fan instantly goes on and doesn't seem to want to shut off.

Blown fuse?

Cheers,
James

Re: Early or late help please?

The water pump was the first job I had to do shortly after buying mine as it started to leak, get some plus gas as some of the bolts are stiff and in my case required an allen key, you will also have to take the pulley off but lots of videos and advice available for this, my radiator looks a bit ro...

Re: Early or late help please?

Looks to me like it’s all early early cooling system apart from you have a late early diesel header tank . early cooling systems are ok , but if the metal crossover pipe fails they are very hard to get hold of and are stupidly expensive if you can find one . for a long while thermoses housings and ...

Re: Early or late help please?

And why do you say late header tank. Yes there is a difference between late and early. But if it is working fine then leave it alone. Late header tank as I believe the early was a different design with a metal cap on What bits do you need to replace, at some stage I will have to bite the bullet and...

Yep it leads straight into the top up tank.

Early or late help please?

Hi all, I need to replace a bunch of my cooling system but struggling to determine which parts I need as it seems like the current system is a bit of a hybrid system with a late header tank so some help would be appreciated as well as some of the parts seemingly costing five or so times the price fo...

Re: Identifying age of tyres

Cheers guys,

My suspicions were that it was likely from 1999, and if not probably still too old but wanted to get a second opinion.
Definitely won't be fitting them on! Seems a shame that they were never used sadly.

Identifying age of tyres

Hi all, I've come across some tyres that whilst a bit dirty, I don't believe have had any use on them and look in great condition. However, I can't identify the age of them, there doesn't seem to be an obvious DOT code with the appropriate numbers. https://i.imgur.com/ViIf1va.jpg Unless the 149 stan...

Mechanic out 5W30 oil in. Okay?

Hi there, Quick one, just took my van for an MOT and got them to replace oil whilst it was there. They've put in fully synthetic 5W30 oil, whereas I've been using thicker mineral oil. Is this okay, I know about thinner oil causing tapping noises which is fine I guess. Will this cause any issues or a...

Re: Roof racks

[ Just purchased a T25 with a side elevating roof. Want to fit a roof rack to it for carrying a kayak - any suggestions? Tks Paul Could you use something like the Thule 542's to create gutters and then attach a lightweight one of that folds down to the side so it doesn't restrict the elevating roof ...

Re: Moving Drivers Seat

Thanks for the reply,
Unfortunately I can't even get the seat to move forward at all so I can't get the seat to move past the rail to remove.
Any advice on how to free it up?
