Re: Valve Springs
I'd say to replace all the springs, regardless, especially the unbroken ones where the other spring has broken - the remaining unbroken spring would probably have been over-stressed.

Re: Starter motor- Random starting wows
Could this be down to a worn / split / randomly spinning oilight bushing? We had to get ours replaced when the starter gave the ghost.....

Re: Oil Change
Hi Ian, and thanks for asking. The 2.1 did everything l asked without any issues. From Stratford U Avon, after a very trying T3BusMeet show (rain, wind, rain, wind, and ad infinitum), l drove to S Wales. I stayed at Cwmdu Campsite between Brecon and Abergavenny. Via an overnight stay in a campsite ...

Re: Oil Change
Yep, take it easy, gradually increasing the revs, and the rate at which you increase them; I'd say your revs limit should be 50% of the maximum allowed (I'm assume you have a tacho in the instrument panel?) - plus don't it at one throttle setting / speed for too long at a time. What you want to avoi...

Re: Oil Change
If it was me, Stu (and being no expert), I'd say that, as it's an old school engine, treat it in the same manner -do the oil and filter change, i.e. the running-in / first service, at 500 miles. Hope that helps!

Re: DJ2.1 Rebuild
Hope the Loctite fix works, Stu! Loctite of various grades and applications is used extensively in the aerospace industry, so I'm sure, with the correct type / grade, you'll be fine. Best of luck, and looking forward to a positive update!!

Re: DJ2.1 Rebuild
Would an old-fashioned thing like a core plug work, p'raps? It must be said that I'm in no way an expert - just thinking out loud....!

Re: Tin top to Pop Top v High Top pros and Cons
And you can get most pop tops under a 'normal' 2 metre / 2.1 metre car park barrier. With a high top, you're often in the commercial car park with all the artics - expensive, and your pride and joy is prone to getting hit....

Re: Pierburg 2E Carburettor
Definitely go for the Bromyard rebuild - it's worth every penny! Our van was like a new vehicle as soon as the rebuilt carb had been fitted - instant starting, better fuel consumption, smoother acceleration, sailed through the emissions testing - and that was on a DG with 140,000 miles on the clock.
