Thanks for your advice, someone’s coming out to morrow to give me a quote to fix it.

Rusty Cab Floor

Hi all, I’ve got some rust on my cab floor I’m trying to sort out, I’m guessing it was caused by the leaking window seal which I’ve now replaced. I’ve taken it back to bare metal on one side and I was just wondering if it’s ok to fibreglass the holes with P40 or should I take it to the garage to get...

Re: Stained Devon roof vinyl

Thanks look forward to it, the stain on mine albeit very similar to yours seems to be ingrained. It’s a brown metal bracket used for closing the roof. The paint is flaking from it and it’s rusting underneath. It lays on-top of the vinyl when the roof is closed so I’m guessing that could have caused...

Re: Stained Devon roof vinyl

Have you time to post a before and after image, or an after image after the sun has done its work, as mine is the same colour stain as yours but more nearer the front no where near the handle and nothing seems to shift it annoyingly I just spotted it one day. Sure, I’ll take a picture tomorrow and ...

Re: Fitting new brake discs

Get two new front hub nuts as they shouldn't be reused. Part number 251407671. Thank you, will do 👍🏻 You shouldn't re-use them on the same side, but if you swap the hub nuts over to the other side, you can [E D I T]usually[/E D I T] re-use them as the peening should be in a different place.   Ok wi...

Do you mean a 'mushroom' pop top or a full length sleeper.. :?:

Hi, it’s the full length side elevating roof with the stripy vinyl 👍🏻

Re: Carpeting a Devon pop top roof

Is there any point as there is a mass of canvas that will be cold. Good duvet and snuggle up!! Waste of time and money in my humble opinion. 85 Devon moonraker with a super Viking roof. Agg dream That’s kind of what I was thinking, I’ll just go with the 4 way stretch carpet and be done. Thanks for ...

Re: Fitting new brake discs

Take a look at the back plates. If they are in poor condition, it's the ideal opportunity to replace them while you've got everything off. Also check that the small square drive hole for the speedo cable in the nearside bearing cap is still nice and square. If it is worn and won't grip the speedo c...

Fitting new brake discs

Hi all, I need to fit new discs to my camper due to one being warped and giving me a juddering brake pedal. I’ve never done anything like this before but really want to do everything on this van myself. So far I’ve got the discs, pads, wheel bearings. Is there anything else I should be changing at t...

Carpeting a Devon pop top roof

Hi all, I’m looking to carpet the roof of my Devon pop top as it’s now shedding it’s fibres. Currently there is no insulation between the carpet and the roof so I was wondering if it was worth putting some up there before I carpet it. Has anyone here put insulation on theirs?

Thanks for looking.

Re: Stained Devon roof vinyl

Thanks for the replies guys, Julia had it spot on. I left the pop top up all weekend in the sun and it’s nearly all disappeared. Looks a lot cleaner now. 🙂

Stained Devon roof vinyl

Hi all, Ive just purchased a 1984 Holdsworth conversion which has a Devon side elevated pop to roof fitted. The vinyl is ok condition but has some brown staining that I’m struggling to shift. It had a sticky feel to it so i thought it could be the vinyl degrading or maybe tree sap. Has anyone experi...
