Re: What does this wire do and where does it belong?
Thanks to all who commented here. After a bit of investigation it turns out to be the black wire for the handbrake warning light and brake fluid level. Reading the wiring diagrams it should attach to G5 but I have a black and yellow wire attached there but I don’t have a rear heater or aircon. So I’...

I know what you’re saying Robsey. That’s why it was an oh crap moment. The bus does have none original wiring and not OCD.

I have determined the red arrowed terminal on the fuse box is a switched live.

What does this wire do and where does it belong?
Evening help please! I was looking for a permanent live for my radio and moved the fuse box for access. I spotted this black wire circled in red, hanging around looking as though it should be connected to the back of the fuse box. Possibly where the red arrow is pointing. https://i.imgur.com/Qbddr4i...

Re: Replacing blower fan without removing heater box
Thanks all for the replies. To clear up any confusion, my plan was to remove the dash and then open the heater box in place. Then replace the fan and resistors. I’ve plenty to be doing (mostly house) and MOT due in a months time. So I think I’ll leave it until after the summer and do it correctly at...

Re: Replacing blower fan without removing heater box
Having thought it through, it does only make sense to attend to all whilst the dash is out.
I want to tidy wiring and fit headlight relays etc. so best to take my time and do all in one go next winter.
I should know better at my age than to try and rush a job through

Replacing blower fan without removing heater box
Is it possible/ Sensible? I’m not inclined to remove the whole heater box at present and disconnect the heater matrix. Is it feasible to open the heater box in situ and replace the motor and resistors? Or am I opening an extra box of pain for myself. If not possible, I’ll leave it until next autumn/...

Re: Headlamps improvements
Mr Baxter. An extra question for you. I’m likely going to install additional driving lights triggered by the main beam stalk control. Can they be run off the same main beam relay or do they require their own dedicated relay? I’ll need to run a fused live for the spotlights anyway. Switched by the he...

Re: Headlamps improvements
Good job Simon, this is a job I intend to do when I get around to replacing the fan and tidying up under the dash.
I’ll keep these for reference. Matt

Re: proper T25 1.6 TD engine oil Northern Ireland
https://totalenergies.co.uk/what-are-differences-between-synthetic-oil-and-mineral-oil-0 Many synthetic oils will have some hydrocarbon mineral oil components in them along with man made synthetic parts that are derived from elsewhere. On older, less sophisticated engines, I think mineral oils are f...

Re: Wasserboxer injectors
Thanks for the links. I had spotted these The green one is made by DF or Defus. A Chinese manufacturer, carries the Bosch part no but is not an original. The yellow Bosch units are 0 280 150 711. Originally intended for SAAB I think. I believe the flow rate is higher which would lead to a richer mix...

Wasserboxer injectors
Where are we at with fuel injectors and availability these days for a DJ engine. I suspect I have one that is not happy. 0 280 150 206 is the original part no. People talk of alternatives but they seem to be drying up also. www.injectorcleaning.co.uk in Hull seem to have a defective website at prese...

Re: High Lift suspension / tyres
No. Standard on a type 25 was 185mm, the 14" Syncro with 6" wide rims used 205mm width in the uk. Carat alloys were specified with a 205mm. The 16" Syncro ran on 195mm width. Plenty of people go upto a 215mm width. I run a 195mm width on 15" x 6" rims on my 14" Syncro a...
