Nice One. Thanks.
Went out and fiddled with the connector and sprayed a bit of WD40 and with a bit more wiggling it works. Hopefully it will last.
Dash binnacle in serious need of repair though - just one retaining lug still intact!

Indicator tell tale lamp not working
Have got an MOT coming up on my 1982 T25 2 litre air cooled. The direction indicator tell tale light on the dash is not working although the indicators actually work and you can hear the tell tale. Not entirely sure whether this is an MOT fail or not but would like to put it right in case it is and ...

Re: Converting early T25 fuel tank to late
Just a further thought. The seal between the plastic pipe and the later tank is where the pipe enters the tank ? However, what I'm not sure on is whether any additional hardware is needed at the other end where the filler cap is or is there a new seal required at either end of the plastic pipe? Be g...

Re: Converting early T25 fuel tank to late
dont mess, just swap the fill pipe to late too, or youll be doing it again..... Ok cheers that works for me - so use late tank with late pipe (48mm plastic)? In case anyone else doing this, this appears to be the seal to allow a 48mm pipe to be used in place of 68mm https://www.justkampers.com/251-...

Converting early T25 fuel tank to late
I've read that early T25 petrol tanks such as mine (1982 2.0 A/C) have a 68mm metal filler pipe and that at some that was changed to a 48mm plastic pipe. Pretty sue my tank is leaking and just wondering if it is possible to use a later tank (I can source a good used one) either with my original meta...

Re: 2.0 cu - starts but cuts out straight away
OK thanks will have a go at that -but also see below. Bit of a development today in that the van started and kept going. I didn't drive any distance as I didn't want to be stranded. But it did occur to me that the issue may be connected with the coil and/or the ignition amplifier and that when these...

Roof latch detached itself
Travelling down the M5 today heard a might metallic bang. Turned out the frontmost U shaped latch receiver on the pop top of my T25 Devon had been ripped clean off. Upon inspection it looks like the two holding studs have sheared off. Therefore I'm thinking of trying to drill these out and put new s...

Re: Anti rattle pads for front brake pads
Thanks for the info. So far this has taken me most of today! Needed a scaffold pole on the end of ratchet to get caliper bolts off then had to go and buy a special 11mm spammer to get the nut holding the hard brake line to caliper. As it turned out one of the hard lines was fused to the nut and ende...

Anti rattle pads for front brake pads
Morning. I'm going to fit some new brake calipers today to my T25 today. Its a 1982 2.0 Air cooled and its got the Teves type calipers. My question is that there don't seem to be any anti rattle plates in the old ones and I haven't been able to find anywhere that has these in stock. So is it OK to f...

"Nothing would be sensitive if the crowns and terminals were in good condition"
Yes - that's the problem. But they very often aren't - hence moving the earth leads around can have a big difference. Basically what my post says.

Re: Headlights / indicators / earth crown
Just been fiddling with the earth crown on mine - which is a 1980 Devon . Actually there are 2 earth crowns and I moved one earth wire from one crown to the other (was trying to get the courtesy light working) I did get the light working but don't think it was the earth at fault. Anyway I left the e...

Re: Restoration of Clara begins
The interior of your van is from a Devon Moonraker. Not sure if it's original because I don't know if Devon converted left hand drive models.
