It's looking good, she got to work and sat around 95-98 ish (according to the aftermarket gauge that is). A touch hot.. Always used to be at an indicated 92 ish. But no overheating with it showing way over 100. :D Vw gauge reading just under the LED, and no flashing which is a first.. As its flashed...

So I did another flush yesterday, removed main hoses from stat housing and flushed till fresh water flowing through.. Did the same with the dodgey looking pipe with the temp sensor in, that need tidying up at some point. Hot flow through the bleed rail also. Bleeded it, and left it overnight went fo...

I'll take a look at that also. I didnt put that in btw! Ha

Tomorrows job then, another flush, flush bleed rail out if I can.. Put the old stat back in which I've tested and it works!

Should of done that before buying a new one

No I didn't go anywhere in van yesterday, better not cause myself any further problems.

Sorry been busy at work. Just had whipped the star out to check again and it appears it isn't working now.. Doesn't open in cup of boiling water! Just checked a couple junctions on the bleed rail.. Although its cold.. No trace of coolant in it at all. I'll get it warm and check again later tonight. ...

Yes that hose gets hot but then goes stone cold.. Not cool. Then it overheats.

What could confirm head seal for sure?

That's the hose that's getting full of air and going cold.

Yes, caravelle.. Its got the rear vents and the control. Never been able to get any air through them

Thanks for responses. So I went through it all again yesterday, same thing. No air out of either valve, all hoses hot to touch so assume its getting flow everywhere. Then go for drive and same issue, so I pulled back on drive and checked return hose it was cool again.. But I opened rad valve and loa...
