Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!

Hello, I am at the end of putting my van back together after fixing the bodywork and repainting with Rustoleum. However I used a satin finish of the Rustoleum Combicolor and it seems incredibly easy to scratch it. I am sure it is well cured, although maybe not fully, I am on the south coast and the ...

Sliding Door Track Cover Brackets

Hello. I wonder if anyone can help - I have made my van bodywork a lockdown restoration project. I have a slight issue - the RHS brackets for my sliding door track cover were so badly corroded they no longer exist. This is for the drivers side of my vehicle which does not have a sliding door, I cann...

Re: Fuel filler neck breather - snapped white pipe union

Hey ZsZ.
Thanks for your response and your advice, the EKTA plan is super useful.
I have been digging for second hand parts and found one, the issue I have is the union with breather pipe at the fuel tank.
I am going to try and sleeve it with a plastic adapter and see if that works.

Tx.

Fuel filler neck breather - snapped white pipe union

Hello. I am just about to refit my fuel tank after refurbishing everything. I have had overflow fuel leak issues when I fill up with a full tank of fuel and lived with petrol smells for some time now, so I have replaced all the grommets, float, breather pipe and valves etc. However the filler neck b...

Re: 1.9 Dg - Solex Carb: Fuel / Carburettor Issues

Hi All. Thanks for your help regarding these issues. I was getting so fed up with the poor running of my vehicle that in the end I invested in a reconditioned Pierburg 2E3 carburettor, manifold and pancake manifold from Roger at Bromyard VW. The quality of the workmanship is great and after a few in...

Re: 1.9 Dg - Solex Carb: Fuel / Carburettor Issues

Quick update to my situation. I have replaced most of the fuel lines in my vehicle now, new stainless clips, which needed doing - but I still had the issue of non-starting. So I bit the bullet and bought a top quality Pierburg pump from Brickwerks. This has got the van going and got me to an MOT sta...

Re: 1.9 Dg - Solex Carb: Fuel / Carburettor Issues

Hi All. Thanks for all your advice - sorry for not replying sooner but I was waiting on supplies and having the time to have a look at this issue. I have replaced a lot of the vacuum hoses and removed the fuel filter between the pump and the carb. I have also cleaned the old distributor contacts and...

Re: 1.9 Dg - Solex Carb: Fuel / Carburettor Issues

Hey A1. Thanks for your reply. I have ordered some vacuum hose, distributer cap and a rotor arm and will also order some new fuel hose from Brickwerks. I am wondering if having 2 x fuel filters installed could be part of my issue and contributing to this sluggish running. I am also wondering if gett...

1.9 Dg - Solex Carb: Fuel / Carburettor Issues

Hi All. I wonder if anyone can help with issues I am having with fuel pumps and lumpy running with flat spots. The history is as follows - I had issues in 2012 with what seemed to be fuel supply so I invested in a carb rebuild kit and a new fuel tank - this was fitted by a trusted mechanic and all s...

I am about to implement this fix with my van - I collated all the fix information from SKELL into a pdf - how do I get this placed in the WIKI?

Thanks SKELL.
