Aircooled: Fuel Pump replacement
Hi all 2.0L CU Aircooled. I'm replacing my fuel pump because its leaking petrol, and the gaskets are leaking oil. Few questions: I've seen a few posts saying to pack the pump with grease - is this right? It obviously gets splashed to some extent with engine oil (hence my oil leak) so is it necessary...

Re: Rocker cover oil leak with new gaskets
I used a bit of wire wool and very gently cleaned up the surface - mine was also covered in silicone sealant (pushrod seals likewise). Horrible mess and I dread to think how many small blobs of silicone have detached and worked their way into the engine over the years. Refitted with a cork gasket wi...

Re: Windscreen seal
Yep did mine too recently, old seal out, repaired rust holes, filled and painted to a smooth surface, new seal (VEWIB) etc... ...rain came today and it leaks worse than ever My plan is to get some Arbomast into the body to glass seal. I'm trying to avoid taking the screen out again, so thinking of s...

Re: Pushrod tubes
Yep just follow the HT leads and adjust them in the right order - I labelled mine up when I did this to avoid confusion and rotated the engine by turning the back wheels in 4th gear.

As has already been said, you certainly can remove without taking the head off:

CU air in fuel filter
Hi
I'm after some info as to whether this is normal (see photo) or whether the system should be free from air. Does this suggest an air leak in the fuel line, or do I not need to worry?
2L CU engine
Thanks

Re: Sliding window catch for Autohomes Kamper
Agree that's the closest part I've found as well, but suspect the holes are in the wrong place...
I think the clip is supposed to latch into the frame to prevent the glass from being slid. Bit of a security risk at present!

Sliding window catch for Autohomes Kamper
Hi My van was originally (I think) an Autohomes Kamper 2 with the sliding window above the cooker (behind the drivers seat). Unfortunately, the sliding window catch which secures the window has snapped at some point in the past and I've struggled to find anything which may be compatible. Does anyon...

Re: Where to route cables
In some distant past I think it was an Autohomes but it's since been totally gutted and redone, I suspect more than once... I've tried the furthest back B pillar but it was a nightmare where the pillar joins on to the roof. I could go down the external surface of the pillar and carpet over the top, ...

Re: Where to route cables
Thanks
I'm wanting to go more or less straight up between the middle and rear window. The solar panel is on the back section of the high top and the battery is next to the rock and roll bed (wouldn't fit under the seat). I just can't see an obvious way to go up the window pillar at this location

Where to route cables
Hi all I'm progressing the interior build of our high top camper, which was started by the previous owners. Its a windowed base vehicle, so I'm wondering how to route the cables from the roof, coming down from the solar panel and also those going up to the overhead lights. I can't see an obvious way...

Re: Sliding door lock
Agree - the choice is bewildering and its best to match the part number exactly and compare the part as best you can. I found a few options on Volksmagic when I was looking at replacing mine. The issue you mention is because a small spring inside the mechanism has a habit of breaking. There is a thr...
